Free Music Notes for Recurring Dream: The Very Best Of Crowded House

Free Music Review: Australian/New Zealand Hidden Musical Treasure!
Hit: 5 Stars

More than twenty years have passed since the Finn brothers, founders of Crowded House, hit the world music Charts with their mellow Hit "Don't Dream It's Over". This song has become almost an authentic Classic since then!

After the 'death' of Split Enz, the Finns led Crowded House to become one of the best bands in terms of performing good music, composing powerful tunes combined with real nice lyrics.

In this album you will find their two greatest hits "Don't Dream It's Over" and also "Something So Strong". However, almost any song in this compilation is a nice one!

No doubt about it, this 'Recurring Dream' is another must-have for any serious Rock music collector!

Free Music Review: A treasure-chest of pop
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a good summary (though they could have included the rarity "Recurring Dream" since that's the album title) of the brilliant music that drew over 100,000 people to the Crowdies' farewell gig on the steps of the Sydney Opera House. These songs encapsulate all the beauty of Neil Finn's contradictions - a slightly shy man who walks the stage like it's his lounge room. Behind the facade of melodies from heaven, lies a dark undercurrent. The cheery harmonies and gentle acoustic strums hide an uncertain melancholy whose beauty captures the soul like a summer sunset. It is this contrast of light and dark that marks this collection as one of pop music's greatest treasures.

Free Music Review: One of the best bands I have ever heard
Hit: 5 Stars

I bought this album mainly for the song "Don't dream it's over", as that's all I thought I knew of Crowded House, and I love that song. Imagine my suprise as I started to listen...it was 'Wow, I know that song!' and 'Crowded House did that song?', all the way through. I couldn't believe it that I had heard almost all of the songs...how come I never knew they were by Crowded House? Were they that elusive? They are one of the greatest bands I have ever heard...right up there with U2 and The Beatles, why were'nt they more well known? And now, just as I have 'discovered' them, I find out they are no longer together. Typical! But as least we have this album and their others to live on.

Free Music Review: Crowded House conquers every blue sky with their music...
Hit: 5 Stars

Listening to "Crowded House" brings back memories of the home we moved away from, and is connected to wonderful memories of a life that's long since passed. After their first couple of albums, "Crowded House" fell off the American pop charts. But, their artistry and songwriting only intensified, and some of their best music came later.

This greatest hits album contains their best-known American hits - "Better Be Home Soon," "Don't Dream it's Over," and "World Where You Live," but also their lesser known hits, that still shows their masterful songwriting skills (Weather With You, Fall at your feet, Private Universe, Four Seasons in a Day).
