Free Music Notes for WoodfaceFree Music Review: Best CD I have ever bought! Hit: 5 Stars
I'm a real picky guy for music and production value and have been a professional in the music business for over 15 years as a live sound engineer and sound company owner. This the best Cd I have ever had the pleasure of buying and have listened to it over a thousand times probably and it just never ceases to amaze me how well it is written and laid down on this disc. I only dislike 1 cut on the entire disc. It took me a few times to really start to appreciate it but if you're a fan of good songwriting and production, this is a classic.
Free Music Review: Tremendous power pop! Hit: 5 Stars
I'm a major Finn/CH fan and must say that if someone twisted my arm and told me I could only keep one of the scant but wonderful catalog of my all-time favorite post-Beatle band...well, I would weep for days, is what I'd do. But this is the one I'd keep, and that's saying quite a lot. My personal favorite tracks: "Fall At Your Feet" and "She Goes On". But the entire album offers a repeat listenability that just about all modern pop artists could learn from. Long Live Crowded House!!
Free Music Review: Outstanding - a landmark of modern music Hit: 5 Stars
The members of Crowded House hit homerun after homerun with Woodface - if you're the type of listener who likes to back up and replay, "Fall at your feet", "Everywhere you go", "Chocolate cake", "Whispers and moans", and "There goes God" are just some of the ones you'll play again and again. All have unforgettable tunes and intelligent lyrics that are maybe just a little too mysterious at times, though never pretentious. Woodface is in my Top 10.
Free Music Review: Their best, and that's saying a lot Hit: 5 Stars
Crowded House probably got closer to the spirit of the Fab Four's later period than any other Beatle-influenced group I can think of. All of their albums are superb, but what makes this first among equals is the songwriting really gels here and the harmonies soar. Standouts are "Whispers and Moans," "Weather With You" and the Finn brothers doing their best ever close singing on "How Will You Go." You should get all of their albums, but get this one first!
Free Music Review: Their best Hit: 5 Stars
The Finn brothers' presence together raise this album above the remainder of their considerable catalog. Inventive and brilliant. "It's Only Natural" is "our song" in our family, a fact shared with Neil by my sis who knows him pretty well, to which he expressed a puzzled "Why?" Because it's a fantastic love song, that's why! "Italian Plastic" is one song that must be heard to be believed. I defy anyone to listen to it without breaking into a grin.
