Free Music Notes for Join the Dots: B-Sides & Rarities 1978-2001Free Music Review: the cure's b-sides and other rareties Hit: 5 Stars
When I heard that the cure was going to release their b-sides I was excited about the box set.CD one is probably the least favorite of mine. CDs three and four are probably the best of the 4 cds. Japanese Dream the radio edit is the not as good as the 12"inch mix. It would have been nice if they would have included the remix instead of the edit. Hello I love you, the world in my eyes, purple haze were great covers with the cures psychedelic feel too them. Out of this world, maybe someday, just like heaven were all great remixes. One of my favorite songs is "burn" from the crow soundtrack. There are a lot of good songs on this box set. Overall, this is a great collection of songs from the cure which I know everyone will enjoy.
Free Music Review: Not Everything But There Is More To Come Hit: 5 Stars
This album is primarily a B-sides album and secondarily a rarities album. To those who are worried that not all the rarities are here you really needn't be concerned. Over the next eighteen to twenty-four months every Cure album will be re-released completely remastered and with a second disc of bonus material. It would be inconceivable that "Faith" would not then include "Carnage Visors," and that "Wish" would not include its four "lost" instrumental tracks, etc. plus material that even die-hard fans may never have even heard of yet. What you have here with Join the Dots is a couple dozen strong B-sides, many of which were famous in their own right. You can't go wrong picking up a copy.
Free Music Review: At Long Last Hit: 5 Stars
I've had most of these songs, in one form or another already, as I am a huge Cure fan, and have been for years. I've collected these on cassette, LP, and CD singles since about 1985. What I didn't have was the reason for purchasing this set, as well as to have some truly brilliant songs (FINALLY!!!) on CD. The following songs are worth the price of the set alone: 10:15 Saturday Night, Plastic Passion, Pillbox Tales, I'm Cold, The Upstairs Room, The Exploding Boy (utterly fantastic!), A Few Hours After This, A Chain of Flowers, 2 Late (heartbreaking in a beautiful way), Halo, Scared As You, Ocean. Of course, there are other great songs, but these are some of Smith's best, and they were B sides! If you're a fan, BUY THIS NOW!!!!

Talking about a box-set: this is one. I remember a boxset I bought which looks the same (Message In A Box - The Police) and also had a very complete tracklisting. This box does the promise again! We got a complete set of flipsides over the Cure's long-time career, filled with some rarities and soundtracks which were hard to get/find. The sound is very clear and the remastering perfect. Beautiful booklet and adding information about the tracks & discography. I'm (again) pleasantly surprised by another box-set; I lost hope with last years Retro by New Order. I'm very happy that I have a lot of tracks here which weren't available before on CD-singles. Great work!!! This is how a box-set should be ...
Free Music Review: Hands down the best Cure music ever! Hit: 5 Stars
I got into the Cure in 1988 and tried to collect as many B-Sides that were released before '88 and started collecting each one that was released from '88 and on. This completely satisfy's the void I've had for 16 years trying to find the ones that we're too hard to get! Plus it's nice to hear all the singles that were on the B-Side of the "Standing on the Beach" tape digitally remastered. I only wish that it contained "Carnage Visors." But I'm sure that will be released later as I heard Robert and Co. are re-releasing each studio CD digitally remastered with bonus material.Nonetheless, it is almost ineffable to describe how thoroughly enjoyable it is to listen to each disc.
