Free Music Notes for Join the Dots: B-Sides & Rarities 1978-2001Free Music Review: Amazing Collection of B-Sides Hit: 5 Stars
From the saturnine appearance of Robert Smith it looks like he's spent the better part of his career wallowing in self pity with very little time to put out a prodigious library of music. Maybe he is depressed but he isn't lazy. His work ethic is clearly shown in this dazzling collection.
Made up of b-sides covering over 20 years Follow the Dots never disappoints. The material is strongest at the beginning but song quality never falls off precipitously. It's amazing that this is all B-side material!
I give it the highest possible rating!
Free Music Review: Missing tracks will be on the remastered albums... Hit: 5 Stars
Before anyone else complains about the so-called missing tracks from this release, you need to understand a few things... Firstly it would be impossible to include everything from the past 26 years on 4 discs. Secondly, all the remastered albums will released in 2004, and will likely include a bonus disc of out-takes and other tracks that did not make the original album release. This release is truly excellent and will be appreciated by those of you who purchased the double-length cassette "Standing on a Beach" and have had enough of replacing it.
Free Music Review: THIS IS IT !!! Hit: 5 Stars
This is an amazing box set! A must for all Cure fans. All the rest of the reviews are just that, the rest. They can complain or nit pick or what have you, but it's just plain simple, buy this album! You have to love this, all the songs that are rare or not released all on one set. Disc 4 does not suck, it is not the weekest link, it is extrodinary. The discography, outstanding! I could go on and on about this album and use up my maximum amount of words. It just plain and simple... buy it and you will love it! Thank you Robert Smith, you are the king of goth!
Free Music Review: Get it for the remastering alone!!!!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I have never, ever rated anything on Amazon, but I couldn't wait to review this. If you are a Cure fan, you simply MUST buy this box set! The remastered B-sides alone are worth the money. I can't remember how many times over the years I've longed for a better quality sound than the analog--now you have it. You can finally hear what the undertones are on some songs. Amazing...what a wonderful collection and high quality, I just can't recommend it enough. Get it for yourself or your favorite Cure fan. I PROMISE you you will not regret Music Review: a musical glass sandwich Hit: 5 Stars
The Cure has always known how to take care of their fans and "Join The Dots" fits like a glove. The biggest standout track has to be "I'm Cold". What a perfect rock song. Compared to its previous release on tape, the sound is sharp so turn the volume up high. Another, is the demo version of "lament". It sounds like a kid borrowing his dad's recording studio and that is simply part of Robert Smith's charm. These are just 2 of the 70 outstanding tracks. This set is a must for every Cure fan.
