Free Music Notes for The Ugly Organ

Free Music Review: Beautiful
Hit: 5 Stars

This album is absolutely stunning.
as with tradition, cursive has once again made this album
better than the last, adding a cello to the line up,
ingenious layering of vocals and riffs and cello all in one.
the final track, staying alive, stands out even in its most monotonous section. being so beautiful isnt a problem for this
omaha based group. this cd has not left my stereo except for
when i insert another of this groups cd. if you dont know any
background on this sad mans relationship, get "Domestica" and youll know mostly what has become of his former marriage.
all in all i love this cd.

Free Music Review: Cursive does it again.
Hit: 5 Stars

I have been listening to Cursive since thier debut album "Such Blinding Stars for Starving Eyes". I have witnessed Tim Kasher's (Lead singer guitarist) voice evolve over the years. And the band itself evolve. Thier latest album is simply amazing. Next to thier debut it is my favorite cursive album. Kashers voice sounds better than ever, and songs like, "A Gentleman Caller", "Art Is Hard" and "Some red Handed Slight of Hand" really stand out. Easily in my top 10 of the year so far.
If you like extremely powerful heart wrenching lyrics, amazing vocals and some wicked guitars...you will like Cursive.

Free Music Review: Good Stuff
Hit: 5 Stars

This review really isn't needed but if you haven't checked out Cursive your missing out on what could be one of the greatest musical experiences of your life. Even if you don't dig Cursive's amazing brash, raw, emotion, you will at least agree it's original and that's hard to find these days. I've seen these guys live twice. They really are amazing live, just utterly amazing. I've bought alot of albums this year, I admit there are some really good ones but the one I keep returning to over and over is The Ugly Organ, along with the rest of Cursive's outstanding catalog. Buy the album then see them live for the total experience.

Free Music Review: Cursive: Absolutely Amazing Music
Hit: 5 Stars

What an awesome cd, you will not be dissapointed with the ugly organ. I hadnt heard of cursive up until I saw theyre cd lying on a cd store shelf littered with great reviews on the front, so I thought I'd give it a try. This is one of the most creative cds I have heard in a long time. Songs such as The Recluse and Driftwood are very catchy on their own, however this cd was meant to be listened to in its entirety. The cd is filled with emotion tracks change from powerful to sublime and back again. Lyrics have to be my favorite thing about the cd, clever the whole way through. This cd basically kicks ass

Free Music Review: Another masterpiece by Tim Kasher
Hit: 5 Stars

Following in the footsteps of Saddle Creek's Connor Oberst (dubbed by many as the next Bob Dylan) is a very hard thing to do, but Tim Kasher some how seems to only be steps behind. "The Ugly Organ" is an emo masterpiece written by this 5 piece. Cursive experiments by adding in Gretta Coln as a cello player...her addition compliments Cursive's melodic guitar work really well. The songs on this CD take a second listen to grow on you, except for 'The Recluse'. Right now, my favorite song is 'Driftwood: A Fairy Tale'. Dont be turned off by the cover art work: buy this now!
