And even if you are not---the music is great!!!!!! This is the final collaboration between John Kander and the late Fred Ebb--plus throw in the efforts of Rupert Holmes (who wrote the underated MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD--and everyone's favorite guilty pleasure 70's tune--THE PINA COLADA SONG). Anyway, I always thought David was robbed of a TONY nod for SPAMALOT--so his win for this was quite overdue!
Every song is a winner---and it is not just because of Pierce--Deborah Monk also has one of the great show stoppers "IT'S A BUSINESS"!
All theatre buff will enjoy--I certainly did!

"Curtians" The Broadway Musical was fun and holds up "pretty good but not great" to the Kander and Ebb reputation but fortunately, their music holds up quite well!
The wonderful thing about this CD is, you can get the jist of the entire show and enjoy the CD for itself.
The music is good and the performing cast on the CD are a scream, with Debra Monk delivering the funniest lines. David Hyde Pierce brought home the TONY, and this CD is so good, it gives you a hint why.

The cast is uniformly perfect in this Kander and Ebb masterwork -- it's a fine recordning of a terrific show. While it doesn't replace seeing the show in person, it is a must-have addition to any musical theatre lovers collection.
This is true musical comedy heaven, as the reviews read in NYC. A recording that is to be treasured, among the last original Kander and Ebb productions.

i saw this show on broadway the week it opened and it is the most amazing show ever. it spoofs thespians and if you are one, you will love the song "show people" it gives you an inside look at putting together a broadway musical. you don't have to have seen the show to understand the music and the show! it is awesome! buy the cd, you won't regret it! and if you can, i highly recommend going to see the show on broadway.Free Music Review: Fun show

We only went to see it because of David Hyde Pierce. The show was lots of fun and the cast amazing. There was great talent on the stage and the music fit well. I had to get the CD. Not the best of Kander & Ebb, but "Show People" still knocks your socks off... and it transfered to the CD beautifully. Hearing the music won't ruin the ending and it gets you ready to follow along or relive the energy.
