Free Music Review: Has an eerie yet ethereal quality

Some of the most impressive songs on this cd would be "Chinese Burn," "Alligators Getting Up," "Forgotten Sanity," and "Beyond Reach." Another reviewer made a snide remark about this being a "fake Goth" something-or-other band, but let me remind you that this group came about when trip-hop was the rage, and this music is more tied into that musical genre than Goth. I'm not even sure if Curve was trying to be Goth at all. In fact, back then, I don't recall thinking of them as a Goth band, Goth back then was dying out already and most people knew the difference. Anyhow, if I had to choose a favourite band from the "trip-hop/rock" genre, it would be this one. There is an eerie, menacing quality to this music that is intruiging and ethereal in its own way. "Alligators Getting Up" strongly emphasises this strange, lucid quality. I highly recommend this cd if you love music with a dark, trip-hop edge.
