. . . is the first impression when hearing certain artists. Out of the ordinary perspectives on everyday emotions, captivating energy and impressive tonal/harmonic range, even clothing - all of these "quirks" are evident when Ms. Lauper is heard/seen for the first time.
And, as time passes, the hair still rises, the eyes still well up & a smile is dearly evoked. She is clearly a treasure, one which I am allowed to experience and humbly I say - she has enriched my life.

Great career-spanning collection. Most of her music is very good so trimming it down to a collection this small is very difficult.Cyndi's best recording ever and definitely essential is "The World is Stone". Trully allucinating vocals. Unfortunately it's not here but it's included in "Feels like Christmas" and "Best of Gold".
I agree that "Hole in My Heart(All the way to China)" should have been here. The cheapest alternative to getting it is "Hits of 1988"

I work as a DJ and have gone to this album more times than I can tell you weddings, bachelorette parties, and other female-oriented events. Lots of fun party songs that keep the floor filled. Some great ballads that still hold up years later. Definitely some classics, so if you get this, it's something that you'll be able to refer to years from now. My only complaint, which may not be an issue for you, is that I would love to have some of the extended remixes.Free Music Review: Absolutely Essential

This is a great collection of Cyndi's music. I was going to buy She's So Unusual but this album had all the great songs from that CD along with a couple of extra great songs from other albums and singles. Cyndi's music is fantastic and plays well even today (although I am biased as I grew up listening to She's So Unusual, watching her videos, and loving The Goonies). You won't regret buying this CD ... guaranteed!

I am glad that the GREAT and REAL singers are bouncing back. Ms. Lauper the DIVA bounces back and even stronger. I am glad the GOONIES is part of that collection! Where is SHINE? Guys buy this CD and enjoy it, because Cyndi's collection is one of the best of all DIVAS collect around (Cher collection can be compared with Cyndi's collection). I love I Drove All Night, Gonnies...I love all. Ms. Lauper music worth your money.
