I listened to this cd again today, probably for the 100th time... I love her voice, her melodies... there is a soulfulness in her voice, an honesty that is so compelling... I know that she walked away from her contract because she found some aspects to the touring artists life unsavory... I hope that she knows how loved she is, how many people love her music... there are so many ways to get music out now that she doesn't have to deal with a pushy label or snickering execs... just make your music, Cyndi, and put it out track by track and we will buy it!

Cyndi Thomson has the stuff. The 24-year-old Tifton, Georgia, native has fashioned a remarkable first album of genuinely personal yet very catchy tunes, each expressing an individual point of view. Beneath Thomson's perfectly appointed, label-friendly presentation lies something far more difficult to achieve: her ability to make important points without sacrificing charm. And although she appears winsome, almost fairytale-fanciful at times, there's also a whiff of Southern Gothic about her and a knack for peeling back the edges to reveal darker truths about people and what's in their hearts.
