Free Music Notes for Devil's NightFree Music Review: Awesome Stuff Buy it! Hit: 5 Stars
This Is my favorite album that I have ever bought! You should buy it right away. I first bought it for Purple Pills and I wasn't disapointed. Almost every song is good and I will rate every song on this album, not skits. A 5 is average.Shit Can Happen- OK the first time but gets old. 6/10 Pistol Pistol- Excellent song that will keep you listening. 9/10 Nasty Mind- Hilarious. Bizarre and D12 at their funniest. 10/10 Ain't Nuttin But Music- Pretty funny, but gets old and doesn't compare in humor to Nasty Mind. 7/10 American Psycho- Very good. Has a nice mix of serious and funny parts. But mostly funny. 9/10 That's how...- Very Very good. A different type of song for a change. Kind of has a cause/effect theme to it. 10/10 Purple Pills- Very good but definitely overplayed. 8/10 Fight Music- Very Cool. It has good lyrics and a smooth beat. Cool topic too. 9/10 Instigator- Swifty's in charge here. Very cool also but is lacking something. 9/10 Pimp Like Me- This is it. The longest track on the cd, and definitely the best. It is my absolute favorite song ever. Can never get old. Just the first minute is D12 at its best, and it doesn't get worse. If you are thinking about buying this album, do it for this track. This song is beyond perfect. 11/10 Blow My Buzz- Very cool song. It has excellent lyrics and will keep you pumped after Pimp Like Me. 10/10 Devil's Night- If you haven't noticed, the songs from 13 on are the album's best. This is excellent and has great "re-listen" value. 10/10 Revelation- My second favorite song on the cd. Leave it to Bizarre to start off this almost-as-good-as-Pimp-Like-me song. But unlike Pimp Like Me it slows down a tiny bit after the start. 10.5/10 Girls- A very Offensive song. But it is very good. If you hate Limp Bizkit, you'll love this song. But if you like Limp Bizkit, you may not think it is good. 9/10 Now I'll rate the members of D12 Proof- He is good but a little too quiet. He should stand out more. 8/10 Eminem- You've all heard him before. But the reason this is one of the best albums ever is not all him. 9/10 Bizarre- The funniest person ever. Although I don't think his dignity is very good, he should be the next Chris Rock. 11/10 Kon Artis- At parts he stands out a lot, but sometimes he acts too similar to Proof. 9/10 Swifty- This guy is a true rapper. He raps at perfect speed, with the beat at all times. 10/10 Kuniva- He is very cool. Very often, he will sound like the most intelligent member of the group. And is funny when he lectures to Kon Artis in Purple Pills and Blow My Buzz. 10/10 There you have it. D12 is my new favorite group, so go do yourself a favor and buy their album.

Free Music Review: Eminem and D-12 are here to stay whether you like it or not Hit: 5 Stars
Mr. Slim Shady did not get my attention until I heard "Guilty Conscience" w/Dr. Dre. He earned my respect with "If I Get Locked Up" from Funkmaster Flex's and Big Kap's "The Tunnel" CD. Although he may rap about controversional lyrics and sick diversions, Eminem has plenty of skill to back whatever he says up. On the "Marshall Mathers LP", which is still a CD to remember almost 11 months after it was released, Eminem left all people who said he couldn't do it again in disbelief. With songs like "Stan" w/Dido, "The Way I Am", "I'm Back" and "Kill You", Eminem showed that he was a force to be reckoned with and his album sales are more than 7 times platinum and rising. With "Devil's Night", it seems like Eminem is trying to get the same respect for D-12 that he already has for himself. Mission: Accomplished. "Devil's Night" has to be one of the best releases in 2001. All of the members of D-12 go blow to blow with Eminem on the whole CD. Production is mainly handled by Eminem and Dr. Dre lends his assistance to 3 tracks as well. Now I will admit while D-12 has skills and I can handle everything they have to say, some of the subject matter will be displeasing to some people. What you have to understand is that this what D-12 is all about. If Eminem has been able to maintain his success by staying true to what he does, so should D-12. The 1st single speaks of what I am talking about: "Purple Pills" is an excellent, well crafted song by D-12 but some people will find the lyrics very offensive. I am able to separate what they are talking about and the actual skill of putting the song together so the material is not offensive to me. The whole CD is based on what I am talking about but the skill level is definitely up to par: The Dr. Dre produced "Fight Music", "Devil's Night", "Pistol, Pistol" and "Pimp Like Me" are also examples of this but the tracks are tight and very well put together. Take the "Marshall Mathers LP" and add D-12 to each song and that's how this CD sounds. I will have to tell you that Bizarre is going to make some people sick just by himself. However, he is a very skilled MC and he will probably get a solo contract after this CD. Whether you like Eminem or not, this is a good CD to have in your collection. "Devil's Night" will definitely put D-12 on the map.
Free Music Review: Classic Midwest Rap Album Hit: 5 Stars
D12 is a great group. It contains a weird rapper(Bizarre), a rapper that sounds like a young Method Man(Proof), a hardcore rapper(Swifty), two rappers that are almost as good at trading verses as Jada and Styles(Kon Artis and Kuniva), and finally the amazing whiteboy rapper(Eminem). True, "D12 World" was a disappointing album to a lot of D12 fans, but who cares.
(...)Can Happen"- Not a favorite of mine, but still listenable.
"Pistol, Pistol"- Gun talk. A cool song.
"Nasty Mind"- I love the mysterious beat. Sick, but funny song.
"Ain't Nuttin But Music"- One of the funniest songs I've ever heard. All rappers basically diss the entertainment industry.
"American Psycho"- Much better than the sequal featured on the sophmore album. A dark beat and equally dark lyrics.
"That's How..."- Another funny song. All rappers basically discuss how different people and things get "f*cked up".
"Purple Pills"- A catchy song about drugs. The first single.
"Fight Music"- This song was supposed to be the second single, but they weren't allowed to release it because the time was around 9/11.
"Instigator"- Another cool beat. Lots of hardcore rap on this track.
"Pimp Like Me"- A dirty sex song that crosses the line on weird once Bizarre gets on the mic.
"Blow My Buzz"- I'm not sure what the songs about(it might be about ignorant women or something). Em's verse is funny.
"Devils Night"- A chanting chorus and some dark verses. Cool song.
"Revelation"- My favorite song on the album. This song is a f*ck you to society. It deals with suicide, school shootings, abuse, and drugs. Everyone on the song does their best and the beat is amazingly hard.
"Girls"- Even though I don't think Eminem should of had the only solo song on the album, I like this song. He basically disses Limp Biskit, Everlast, and some other guys and calls them girls.
Basically, don't doubt D12 if you think they're mainstream now. Back when they made this album, they were hardcore and that's what this album is.
Free Music Review: I'm impressed! Hit: 5 Stars
Definitely - having heard Eminem's notorious 'Marshall Mathers LP' and being quite disappointed having expected to experience something on par with the amazing Slim Shady LP, I didn't expect all that much from this album (although I was interested in seeing what the other cats have to offer). But I had a £10 voucher for Smith's and, having searched thoroughly for something slightly appealing to me and failing to do so, I copped this double-CD for jus 4 boyz. I took it yard, put it on, and listened to it the whole way through without barely havin' to skip tracks!First of all, I feel that Eminem is at his peek on this album. I've never heard him rhyme any better than this, not even on Infinite or the Slim Shady LP. He shines on every song which features him. Respect. Secondly, it ain't a 'one-man-wonder' thang - they all got great talent and generally unique styles. Rhymes are well-constructed, original, often comical and accompany good flows. The only critisism I can make about this album is that is it very negative from my point of view; BUT, that's they're style, so it ain't my place to cuss. Eminem has (obviously) become hugely commercial over the last couple'a years, and I don't associate myself with commercial 'hip-hop', cos I find there's usually nuthin' to it. My favourite emcees include COMMON, BIG L (R.I.P.), PHAROACHE, JERU, METH and old-skool ICE CUBE, jus to name a few. Other than the odd waste-of-CD-ROM, my whole CD collection consists mainly of underground classics and the odd sell-out. I believe this D12 album will be a combination of this: ...a sell-out classic! These guys are so popular cos they're front, honest and nearly always keep it real. NOT cos they construct tacky, light-hearted sell-out joints, like that LUDACRIS fool, for example!!! Nah nah nah, these guys are on some utha ..., trust me! Cop this record. Fave tracks: Purple P***s (light-hearted, at the same time, outragious!); Blow My Buzz (I can relate!!!); Revelation (some deep ...); Girls (amazin' rhymes); ... On You (a rap-classic in my opinion). Peace.
