Free Music Notes for Devil's NightFree Music Review: Just give it a try... Hit: 5 Stars
I bought D12's premiere cd the day it came out, as i am a huge eminem fan and had heard some of them before, and devil's night turned out to be the best purchase i made all year. this album is nearly flawless, and is one of the best cds that has been released this year, and definitely the best rap cd, in my opinion. all five members have their own distinctive styles, and with the exception of Bizarre, are all insanely talented mc's. Eminem is still the best, he flows the smoothest and his rhymes are amazing, but everyone else can definitely hold their own. Swifty Mcvay is second best, in my opinion, followed by Proof and then Kuniva and Kon Artis. Bizarre has his moments, but he just isn't on the same level as the rest of the incredible crew. you can listen to this cd from front to back without encountering one bad song, and it didn't leave my stereo for over a month. it's that good. i know many people will buy it for Purple Pills, and many others will be shocked at some of the explicit content, but if you just sit back and listen to the album all the way through you will discover one of the top groups in rap today, and realize that d12 are all great artists in their own right, and not just eminem's boys. buy this cd.you won't be disappointed.
Free Music Review: Dirty Dozen- Detroit definitly represents! Hit: 5 Stars
First of all I am from Oakland Cali and love west coast rap but Eminem does not diss the west he just comes tight. I dont ever want to hear about rolexes or beemers or benzes....that is not what hip hop is all about. .... I want to hear lyrics and beats not about your "borrowed" platinum chain! D12 gives hip hop heads what they want! Back to reality! The Dirty Dozen (D12) is seriously doing it on their introductory album. Fire production and major beats truly help this album to stand out. Eminem has major lyrics off the top but swifty and Kuniva also bring major flavor to the album. I liked Em's first album and loved his second album (Marshall Mathers LP was better than Dre's Chronic 2001). D12 just adds more flavor with diferent lyrical styles. Eminem has finally stepped to the plate to show some excellent production skillz as well as Denaun Porter adding some funkdafied beats. Bizarre was off the hook at the beginning of the album but by track 6 he gets annoying. He is wack to me but some people might dig him. You can shock people for a while but after that it just sounds stupid. .... Just unrealistic and wack but the album is gets 5 mics...5 stars....5 fists....or 5 rolexes.....depending on how you view hip hop! Holla!
Free Music Review: Rap fans, buy it, period. Hit: 5 Stars
If you are a fan of rap or Eminem, buy this CD, its that simple. This CD is equally as good as his other two and D12 makes it more fresh. Every song is solid or better, and as always a lot of it is hilarious. If you aren't a fan of Eminem and just want to see how "bad" his CD is, then get Marshall Mathers LP, because it is mostly just Slim and will make you raise your eyebrow.. Otherwise, this one is great. Some of the beats sound almost familiar, like some remind me of Whats the Difference from Dre's 2001, and The Real Slim Shady, but it still seems fresh and I don't want to make the CD sound bad, because it is far from. Some of the songs just make you want to bang your head like Fight Song, and everybodys probably already hear Purple Hills on TV, but the unedited one is better on this CD, Purple Pills. There's 19 tracks, only 4 skits. The Steve Berman skit is very funny especially if you have his first two LP's. Rap fans, buy this. Ain't nutin but Music is a song which tells what Shady thinks about music celebrities. Sh!t can happen is a very cool song, and I could go on and on. Again, every CD on this album is solid or better. Buy it. You WILL NOT be dissapointed. Slim, I praise you.
Free Music Review: i was surprised Hit: 5 Stars
Lets face facts...most crew albums are wack...just a big time rapper putting on his friends to make some more $$$......enter devils night...executive producer/rapper/group head honcho eminem actually put together a bunch of songs that are dope and arent just filler garbage.....from begginning to end this cd was nice...all the tracks are nice...my personal favorites are: devils night, american psycho, aint nuthin but music, and purple pills...i was a little upset that sh@# on you wasnt on the album...but everything else is just peachy....basically the whole cd features the same marshall we heard on "the way i am" the mad at everybody intense eminem...which is probably the way he sounds best.....the other five dudes are dope too...and the stand out most valuable emcee from all six is--------->Bizzare.......he basically outshines everyone else including eminem with his funny off the wall shocking crazy lyrics.....if only he had a better delivery he could be a big name in the hip hop world.........so props to d12 and i hope to hear more of bizarre sooooon.....cop that......
Free Music Review: An amazing record Hit: 5 Stars
The first things that catch your ears when listening to 'Devil's Night' are the ponderously empowering beats and disturbing lyrics. However, upon closer inspection, D12 is actually making a few important statements with their songs. Granted, some of it may seem a little hackneyed; but they often try to explore the culture of rage, examining how and why children and adults alike feel dispossessed from society, and how that disunion can lead to tragedy. Listen to "Fight Music" and "Revelation," and you'll understand that the message, though cliched, is developed in a stunning manner, armed with Eminem's lyricism and some truly haunting beats. The CD's also good to just sit back and bump to--'Ain't Nuttin' But Music' and "That's How" just give you powerful beats and comic-book lyrics which somehow make things all seem funny...and of course, Purple Pills is a fun track as well. I was particularly impressed by Proof's rapping-he's the most distinctive of the group, and his rhymes are always fun, interesting, or even scary--he's worth checking out.
