Free Music Notes for Alive 2007Free Music Review: OUT OF PRINT COOL TO THE MAX! Hit: 5 Starslets crack it open shall we..
review wise i have the USA
distribution of this..and i paid $75 for it.
the alive 2007 limited-E was out of print the day it was released..
1. When you get the "disk" you are greeted with literally a cd jewel case sized, 1/2 inch think hard cover book, and its a book in every sense of the word, internal fabric based binding and all! On the cover is the alive logo and stuck to it is the blue daft punk sticker, luckily the sticker is one of those super easy removable ones. As for the cover its all gloss black and made really well. The back cover features a full track listing in "alive" blue. AND for once, the copy right info on the back does not threaten you within an inch of your life!!!..i gotta hand to em, this is old school record packaging all the way..
2. Turn the cover to open it, on the back side of the cover is where disk one lives, happily resting snuggly in its matt black-thick paper-folder, and this folder thing is firmly bound to the cover...like a how a record would live in its sleeve. On the right is a page of high density black mat paper, its a good place to put the sticker by the way..turn the page to see the actual book.
3. The book is actually pretty cool, filled with images of the stage, daft punk, the alien triangle and all its glowing glory, the concert setup and what not. Although for the cost of today, meaning the out of print cost..its not too spectacular, but for the original list price it was sold at.. yea i would say its a huge bonus. After the 50 pages...turn the final page to the back side of the back cover, This is where disk 2 lives. Again its snuggly living in a sleeve.
4. To the disks!, side the disks out to view, the disks are like the cover, jet black with just the alive logo, and "daft punk Alive 2007". Its super simplistic and very cool. As for the CD-R it self, its of standard release grade, best to archive them as they are going to scratch easily, best they remain in the book FAR AWAY from high speed drives and car stereos.
5. THE MUSIC, disk one is pure ear candy. 12 continuous meshed tracks covering over 20+ mixes, an entire concert from start to finish with the crowd. The opening track throws you right into the mix and primes you for whats to come. Towards the center things really start heating up with high speed -almost perfect mixes of all there major tracks, and towards the end you will rocking out with the crowd to last second. Sound quality is clear with great highs, mids and bass.I would say the CD achieves max allowed sound range..Owners of large stereos with subs shall very be pleased. Headphone wise lots of channel changes and ear candy..IE they should get an A for mastering.
Disk two: EXTRA MIXES! and VIDEO! WELL WORTH IT! THEY SOUND AWESOME!!!
video is very cool BUT! it does not show the giant triangle with its full projection screens on!!! its mostly of just the light show and the fans..
THE JIST.
One, i would imagine would think its crazy
to pay $75 to over $100 for this thing.
Especially when its probably floating about on the net.
but Alive 2007 LE is not about data on plastic
its about the spirit of music..
and the fact when you buy a CD or record you should get something
concrete for your money!!!! For those who went go see alive its well worth it, a memento from an Awesome Concert. For those who did not go, well its as close to it as one can get...i mean you pick it up and whoa..
as if the giant triangle just planted it self in your front yard..
IE OUT OF PRINT COOL TO THE MAX!
Free Music Review: Simply amazing... Hit: 5 StarsThis album is a must have if you're a Daft Punk fan. Get it!
Free Music Review: Pre-Order Sucks Hit: 1 StarsI had pre-ordered this one as well, and I saw a copy in a store but passed on it because I thought Amazon would come through for me... when they informed me that they wouldn't be getting any more in and that my pre-order was null and void, I became pissed... I could've bought my very own copy at the store instead of trusting Amazon and being left with nothing!
Free Music Review: Don't buy this album... Hit: 5 StarsThis is probably the best electronica album I have heard to date. I am a huge Tiesto, Thrillseekers, and Benassi fan... I can honestly say that nothing comes close to what was thrown down here. This CD is absolutely ridiculous. Sadly, the only down part about this album is finding music as breath taking after you've heard it. If you even remotely like DP, getting this album should be of no question
Free Music Review: Best album of the decade Hit: 5 StarsThe title of my review says it all. Never before have hotter beats, wilder synths and samples and cool ideas been put together as well. For longtime fans, yes it's a live album but everything is mixed in such a crazy way that this could only be considered a new album with new songs, like Daft Punk sampling themselves to make something cooler than anything before it. To anyone who couldn't make it to the actual show, I'm sorry but you really missed it. It's like passing up a chance to see Hendrix, Nirvana or Joy Division live. Anyone who missed it and is ripping on the group has no idea what they're talking about. The picture booklet will give you an idea, though. The Lollapalooza show blew my mind, and I can tell the Paris show recorded for these discs was equally sick. At moments like those to be alive is wondrous, but to be young is quite heaven. The bonus disc is so worth owning, as the encore was when the show's many ideas came together - Human, together, celebrate, one more time! The bonus version is the superior product, although if you can't get ahold of it, at least get the single disc version. Merci Daft Punk!
