Free Music Review: a nice return to an earlier familiar sound

i finally bought this cd after picking it up and setting it down a few times. i think its a very good new album. some one in a previous review stated that the songs were written in 1997 with the exception of two and is dated 2002, they also stated that it is released on an obscure label, well the label is dans own label named after a song on souvenirs called "morning sky" and the distributer is mailboat records which is owned by jimmy buffett (who is thanked in the liner notes). if the album packaging/artwork is lacking, maybe by big corporate standards its because dan and his family created it themselves. anyway i like this cd, its really grown on me, it has a sound that goes back to all of his best works like the innocent age. im glad that he's released something new. i allways liked hearing his songs on the radio when i was growing and when i lived in colorado, near his house and studio around nederland he came into an auto shop i was working at and was a regular customer and i really got into it then and have bought everything he's done and cant imagine not listening to him. this cd was recorded in his home studio "mountian bird" and hopefully we will get some more music from him in the future. my favorite off this cd is reason to run, which has a great guitar sound that sounds like older fogelberg and icarus ascending. the inspiration for most of these songs seem to be his homes in colorado and maine and his love of sailing and lifestyle.Free Music Review: no wonder it took 6 years to be released

I have always been a fan of dan. Even to put up with ridicule when I play his songs on my ipod in public.I read the previous reviews and bought the album. The songs were all written in 1997 and the album not released until 2003 by an obscure label. It appears that there is a reason for the gap and lack of a major label. Sad to say (sounds like a title of a fogelberg song) this album is not worth the purchase price.
Evendently the reviews listed are Dan Fanatics and absolutely love the man. I dont think we will ever hear any of these songs on radio. Save your 13.99

This is far beyond on of his classic alabums. If you love Netherlands then this is the cd you must have. I should know I love and know all his songs and styles. Plus I own every signal albaum he has produced. Half Moon Bay will should you his instrumental talents. If you agree then you should listen to Twin Sons Of Different Mothers. This Heart, Full Circle, When You Are Not Near Me, Icarus Ascending are ones that will become favorites, but the whole alauam will be cherished. Last but not least Earth Anthem, you will get a glimpse of what Dan believes in or his spiritualty. It echoes what was said in felt from his song Spirit Trail on Greetings From The West cd. As a fan for 30 years, I was eagerly awaiting the Full Circle CD. No disappointment here. It brought me back to the early days of "Home Free", "Souvenirs", "Captured Angel", and "Netherlands". How refreshing! Dan's song-writing talents and musical/vocal gifts makes this CD a treasure to have.
