I purchased this CD-ROM about 7 years ago and played it every night. I listened to it until I fell asleep. I have listened to it each night since I purchased it. The constant playing resulted in numerous scratches on the back. Several weeks ago I had the CD restored so that I could continue enjoying it. I have often looked for this CD so that I could purchase another copy since my original one was becoming well used. I am thrilled to find it again so that I can have a new copy and a constant supply from now on when replacement becomes necessary. It is the most relaxing and soothing sounds that I have ever heard. Additionally, I find it envaluable for daytime listening whenever I am in need of some peaceful downtime. While I have found other environmental sounds CD's, none of them compares to this CD-ROM. I got this CD almost 2 years ago to help during a time where I was experiencing a lot of anxiety. That problem passed in a couple of months, but I still listen to it every day. Not only is it a terrific meditation to have on in the background of your home, but I often listen to it with headphones on while I read. It is not distracting to my reading and I find the novel I'm reading is enhanced as it allows me to block out atmospheric sounds in the house(I listen to it with noise cancelling headphones on sometimes and I swear if I close my eyes it seems like I'm at the ocean). It is a terrific recording of just peaceful ocean surf and I would suggest it to anyone for realxation, stress relief, or even if you just love the ocean.Free Music Review: PURE OCEAN; use this with Deep Breathing! This Dan Gibson CD is one I use to teach deep, diaphragmatic breathing...the tempo is good if you use one breath in, with one wave, and one breath out, with the second wave. This is very helpful for relaxation and for breathing practice for Anxiety disorders. There are no annoying "extra noises" like seagulls, foghorns, boat motors, or otherwise extraneous distractions. What you get is Pure Ocean Waves...something quite difficult to find in the "ocean" of SFX and "relaxation CD's" out there. Slightly over an hour long, you can use this for one great calming break. No music in this one either, JUST the waves resounding a crash, trickle, smooth movement. If you can't relax with this one, we should talk!!Free Music Review: Worth EVERY Penny!

The gentle waves rush over pebbles on the shore and the sound is so clear and crisp that you can actually hear it!This is not your run of the mill ocean cd! This is a great cd for background noises or a soothing relaxing sleep! There are no background or interrupting noises to wake you up and best yet - no annoying music!

Trapped in Las Vegas, only one thing can keep me sane. Dan Gibson has created a place of peace for me. The sound of the sea is the eternal sound of the earth breathing. Without it there is no life. I know this when I try to water my long dead plants. I moved here from the Northwest, where the rain is relentless. Now the sun is relentless. What was I thinking? But there is solace in Gibson's recordings for the life I once knew. I play the CD and run my fingers through sand and shells I brought with me from the coast to Sin City. Sitting in front of an air conditioner and a garden statue of a pelican, I can close my eyes and I'm almost there.....
