Free Music Review: Is has been awhile...
Hit: 5 Stars

Hallelujah, I haven't had my toes curl over a band since Cake... The Dandy Warhols are fresh and edgy, both lyrically and rhythmically. Each song has it's own validity and uniqueness, which means it can be listened to over and over again with out one getting tired of the music or the lead singer's voice. The production of the cd is first class, each song seques into the next, flowing together in a way that hands you off to the next song. I can only listen to this cd/band with the volume turned up and sitting still is not an option. If you are looking for stale, this is not the band for you. I am very thankful that they are a West Coast band and play in Seattle frequently. Catch them in a small venue while you can!

Free Music Review: Great Urban Pop
Hit: 5 Stars

Wow. What a sarcastic album. I too was lulled by the first three tracks ("Godless," "Mohammed," "Nietzschxvqre") into thinking that this was a guitar groove-based album. And then the parodically countrified "Country Leaver" hit me. I was still not prepared for the synth-organ riffing ode to stupidity "Solid" ("I must have a door in the back of my head") OR the brutal murdering of The Offspring which was to follow ("Horse Pills"). "Bohemian Like You," however, has got to be the ultimate blow to cynicism out there. And it only rips off two Stones songs to do it.

Free Music Review: Stunning!
Hit: 5 Stars

Why haven't I heard of this band until recently? I was in my car, heard, Bohemian Like You and immediatley started searching for a music store! Found the CD, popped it it in and listened to the song again. I simply love that song, BUT then I listened to the rest of the CD! I was fully expecting to be disappointed, how many CD's have you bought because you fell in love with one song, then realised that there really wasn't much else there? This is SO different! This collection of "Tales" is astounding. I have not been this excited about a band in years. Do your self a favor, buy, borrow or steal this CD! It is really that good!

Free Music Review: This Album Is Incredible
Hit: 5 Stars

I'll keep it short: If you need an album to strut around town feeling cooler than everyone else while listening, this is the one to do it with.

However, if the Dandys are going to do country, they really need to keep it off the front-porch hoedown vibe (Country Leaver), and keep it more on a "wearily crawling the dusty trail home after seeing some spirit visions" mentality (The Gospel). The latter is done really well, while the former is done poorly at best.

Country Leaver is really the only downside to this record, but do not let that dissuade you from getting one of the best indie rock records ever made.

Free Music Review: Perfect Party Music
Hit: 5 Stars

I've been listening to "Thirteen Tales...." for a few weeks now and I have to say this album is simply FANTASTIC!! All the tracks flow nicely together and each have a distinct character to them. I find this new album more satisfying than the previous DW's CD (although I love both of the other releases), in that the new one's tracks are more DEFINED and much more FUN!! This was proven when I had a party of about 20 people at my house and I cranked up "13 Tales..." and EVERYONE was asking " who is this?"....well I think I helped Dandy Warhols sell at least 20 more CD's!! Call it Psycadelic Party ROCK!!
