Free Music Notes for Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia

Free Music Review: i didn't want to like this
Hit: 5 Stars

because the band themselves are such poseurs and ripoff artists, but you have really gotta hand it to them: they are expert at what they do, and the songs are almost every one of them undeniably catchy, witty, exhilarting, sonically inventive, and charming--kinda like someone you know better than to give your number to, but end up sleeping with. well, that's YOU not me, silly, cause I'm a virgin and why don't you kill me? Recommended if you like: Ride, The Black Watch, The Rolling Stones (early), Chapterhouse, Pale Saints, and all kinds of other Englishy and English bands. Woo-hoo!

Free Music Review: One addictive album
Hit: 5 Stars

I love this album. The music is cool and clever. The lyrics are thought provoking, funny, and even bizar at times. The first song just melts in your ears and critisizes someone for not acting like a God loving person. The third song has a greate tune but seams to criticizes God for dying to pay the price of our sins or even to exist at all (The creapyist song of the bunch). The songs after that are so different from each other that its as if different people wrote each one and are each a delight to listen to. You will wear your shoes out tapping to these sleepers.

Free Music Review: Last classic rock album or not, this album is amazing!
Hit: 5 Stars

I know the band despises when people say this, but the best way I can find to describe them is as a brit-pop band from Seattle. There are times when I would swear that I'm listening to Blur (such as on `Solid') and there are other times when the northwestern influences are blatant. No matter how you try to pigeonhole them, there is no denying that this is a fantastic album. I can pretty much guarantee that after you listen to 13 Tales for the first time, you'll find it stuck in your CD player and on a constant loop.

Free Music Review: An Immensely Pleasurable Romp Through Pop's Last 30 Years
Hit: 5 Stars

Every one of these 13 songs is a keeper. Particularly delightful to me were the many style exercises. I counted Iggy Pop (_Solid_), Beck (_Horse Pills_, my favorite), Jesus and Mary Chain (_Cool Scene_) and the Stones (or their prophets, Primal Scream) (_Bohemian Like You_).

If you didn't get the "Bonus CD" anymore, you're not missing too much (Although I sort of liked getting a copy of _Not If You Were The Last Junkie on Earth_, since I didn't have that yet).

Free Music Review: Dandy Warhols+Urban Bohemia= PURE JOY!
Hit: 5 Stars

So I love the Dandy Warhols and ALL their albums but I have to say that this is my absolute favorite. It is a brilliant mix of all the BEST music---The Velvet Underground, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Iggy Pop and everything good inbetween. There is a song for every mood on this album...songs to dance to and songs to relax to...Overall 13 Tales from Urban Bohemia is the perfect mix for anyone who loves a variety of music and Bohemians everywhere! Give it a LISTEN!
