I have been a fan of Dane for a few years, ever since seeing him on Comedy Central. The hour long version of his Comedy Central Presents alone is worth buying this! You get the feeling that the funniest stuff was cut out, then you realize how tough it must have been trying to pick & choose what stays & what goes...the begining pretty much stayed, & the end just keeps on rolling! The cd is just like the first one put out, but one track has been replaced with a new Bonus Track, which is just as hilarious, if not funnier than Animal Planet. What makes Dane even more hilarious than some of his peers, you may ask? The fact that you can relate to what he is talking about. I have never seen Dane perform without hearing one person say, "It's so true!" during his set. I saw him just tonight & had a lovely little conversation for him- a guy who talkes & takes pics with his fans & doesn't make you feel like he has something better to do & needs to rush you away. Dane Cook is way funny, sharp, and...those voices! This guy's got too much energy, (which is not a bad thing) as he's able to channel into some hillarious riffs on sex, Burger King, killer nightmares, womb activities, that Silence of the Lambs guy, naughty naughty Kool-Aid, car accidents, Video Horizons and the unfortunate outcome of tire vs. face."I'M GONNA PUNCH EVERY BEE IN THE FAAAAACE!!!!"
The CD is freakin funny (24 tracks--I have trouble deciding my favorite, it's either #19 Head, #13 Operation - Monopoly, #9 Pregnant Lady, #5 Tire in the Face, #20 Nightmare, #22 Not so Kool-Aid, #24 Video Horizons, #11 Slip N' Bleed, or #8 The BK Lounge), but the DVD is the gem. You get the whole effect on the supplemental DVD, which captures his freak energy, the physical comedy, and the very sharp observations. Self-depricating and weird and accessible and fresh and hilarious!

You get an hour-long comedy CD and a bonus hour and a half DVD of his best Comedy Central gigs. Watch this guy. He's about to blow up. Keep it up, man! Genius.

Free Music Review: The Funniest Thing I Have Heard In A Long Time!!!!!

I have always been a big fan of Dane Cook ever since I saw his special on Comedy Central. I then found out about his website. Then a month after I became a frequent visitor of his site there was the news that today, Jully 22nd, 2003, they would be re-releasing his first CD. The original was produced at the begining of 2003, but only over the internet. Well today I picked up my copy at Coconuts and I have to say I am still laughing hard. The CD is incredible and is full of some of the funniest things including a dreaded toy from my child hood, Speak N Spell AKA Speak Like The Devil. The DVD contains 4 of his Comedy Central performances. Ok, actually 3 different ones. They are: his Comedy Central Presents episode. 1 version of it which is the version that aired and it is censored. Then another 1 hour long uncut version which features many very funny things that I can't believe were missing. Also included is a Premium Blend performance and his Comics Come Home 5 performances. This is a great package for a low price. The DVD is almost 2 hours and the CD is about an hour. I would write a review, but to be honest, there are so many. The CD and DVD are excellent. Know this. I can watch it. Put it on my shelf. Come back the next week, and laugh just as hard.
I was driven to "review" Alexander Wilke, who is a douche, and likely was Dick Cheney. Please read his review first, then read "the rest". WHAT A HARD ON!!! You don't like physical humor? Go listen to NPR, and shuddup. I don't like how blowhards who have 225 people saying yes say "nah". This is the guy who you go out to get something to eat with, and hes like "Nah, im a vegetarian", and he wont order from the vegetarian menu because he knows the sautee on the same grill as they do the meat. What a dick.
End of story: Dane Cook is a great guy. I've met him. I've interviewed him. Alexander Wilke is an awful nuicense of a man, and I would love nothing more but for him to have his computer stolen so he doesnt have to write his manic depression on paper.
The CD IS FUNNY!! Buy it. 225 Americans CANT BE WRONG!!

Do you think you know funny? No. You don't know funny. You probably think that people like, oh, your Jay Lenos or your Drew Careys or your Jim Careys or your Craig Kilbornes are funny. Nope. You don't know funny. There's a place on the Sunset Strip called the Laugh Factory -- Whenever he's not on tour in the 'States, Dane Cook, the very man you're thinking of buying the stand-up CD and DVD of, calls this place his HOME. He shows up there almost every Friday night, Saturday night, he tries out new material, he does new sets, he goes running around the stage, he goes up to people, he GETS IN THEIR FACE and asks them questions he answers himself. This man SNORTED A LINE OF QWIK as a 5-year-old and it hasn't worn off yet. He's PURE ENERGY in clothes that may or may not come off during the act just to prove a point. He wishes he could be a snake. Did you ever wish that. Yes you did, stop kidding yourself. He KNOWS. Unhinge your jaw and eat a whole turkey. You WANT THAT.
Dane Cook, man.. He's crazy in the good way.
