Free Music Review: Hilarity Insues
Hit: 5 Stars

Dane Cook is by far one of the funniest guys I have ever heard in my life. One thing that sets him apart from the comedians of today is racism. Almost all other famouse comedians today make jokes about race and/or sex. Dane Cook has the ability to be hillariouse without using those things, which is good because racism/sexism jokes leave a lot of people uncomfortable. I can seriously listen to this CD all day everyday and laugh at every single joke every single time, and at 3 discs for the price of one, you can't go wrong. The package comes with 2 audio discs ("need" and "want") and a DVD ("have"). I was a little annoyed at the DVD because it dosn't have much material on it and the material that is on it isn't very good. The DVD has clips of him on comedy central's "shorties watchin' shorties" and "roast" and several other clips. The "roast" clip was the worst. He really wasn't funny and I didn't laugh once which proves that Dane Cook isn't good on his feet. But if this is true, than this CD was very well thought out because the audio i awsome.

Although I didn't like the DVD, the fact that it's 3 discs for the price of 1 prevented me from rating it down.

Free Music Review: Worth the money, and it maintains.
Hit: 5 Stars

With the whole product being 2 CD's and a dvd, your $15-20 investment is certainly a bang for the buck. The first CD is great it contains a lot of what I think of as humor that never gets old.

for those of you who don't know him, his routine style is more anecdotal, adult-oriented, and irreverent thna a lot of his contemporaries. By the end of the 2nd CD the jokes-per-minute start to decline, and you end up on some mildly entertaining story about him getting a BJ for the first time. The story has a few jokes in it, but I think it still needed work before it was included on something released.

The 2nd CD decline aside, theere's plenty of high impact material on the first CD and the beginning half of the 2nd CD to warrant the purchase. The DVD's also really nice if you want to see his television appearances, but for new material on it, I was only able to find his appearances on "crank yankers"

all in all, it's definately worth the money, and I can't believe it doesn't cost a lot more (they could probably get me to buy it at $25, but hey, less money is better as far as I'm concerned)

Free Music Review: don't listen to Ivan the terrible
Hit: 5 Stars

First off, all reviews are subjective, so all the "gushing, irrationally effusive, shades of Tom Cruise on Oprah" comments are perfectly acceptable because the reviewer is simply stating their opinion. Ivan's negative, dogmatic and empirical statements are out of place because A.) Ivan's not a successful stand-up and can't speak intelligently on what is or isn't funny - aside from merely stating what he prefers and B.) he's probably not funny, IMHO, and probably isn't getting any right now, hence, the frustration and consternation stirred up by the reaction Dane gets from his legion of female fans. Here's the objective truth: Dane's CD is selling more than any comedy album since Steve Martin's "Wild and Crazy" guy, released back in 1978 and his shows are selling out. So, Dane's struck a nerve. I just got back from seeing him in Denver, CO and he killed, a solid 90 minutes of totally hysterical material. A lot of it was new. I drove 12 hours to see the show and I'd do it again. Buy his CD, see the movie, "Waiting", visit his website, flash the SuFi whenever appropriate but do NOT listen to Ivan, he's a hack.

Free Music Review: AWESOME
Hit: 5 Stars

There are some bitter reviewers on here for some reason, I'm not entirely sure why.

Dane Cook's latest CD rocks my socks-- It has a slightly different flavor that "Harmful When Swallowed", but it is still very funny.

Much of the first CD was review for me because I unknowingly ruined it for myself by watching Dane's TV appearences on his website. I had no idea those jokes would appear on Retaliation, but it was still funny. My boyfriend and I were both supremely disillusioned by the DVD-- I didn't need to pay extra money for that. I thought it was going to be clips from his stand-up (though the Tourgasm promo was very good!), not blurbs from miscellaneous Comedy Central crap.

I absolutely loved the bits about wanting a legacy, the "nothing" fights, the car alarms, ect ect ect.

Like "Harmful When Swallowed", this CD is extremely quotable and is a excellent choice to play with a group of friends in your living room on a Friday night. SO FRIGGIN FUNNY.

I wouldn't recommend it if I thought it sucked, I assure you.

Buy it buy it buy it.

Free Music Review: one of the most original comedians around!
Hit: 5 Stars

I've noticed that Dane has taken lots of criticism here regarding his comedy. First of all i have to say that although Dane Cook does aim a lot of his comedy at a younger crowd, he is one of the most diverse and orginal comedians working today. From his language, to his gestures, to the content of his jokes, he is an amazingly funny, absolutely hilarious comedian that uses his charm and personality to captivate audiences. Dane Cook is not extremely successful simply because he is good looking but because when you listen to his comedy or watch one of his performances, it makes you feel good and feel better about your day. Being a fan of Dane and having his comedy to fall back on, has helped me through some difficult times because he has the ability to make you truly forget about your problems for awhile. to anyone who doubts Mr. Cook, let me just say I have never had a comedian make me laugh so hard!
