Free Music Notes for Retaliation (W/Dvd)Free Music Review: Nonstop laughs from the greatest comedian today Hit: 5 Stars
Dane Cook is without a doubt the greatest comedian today. His recent album, Retaliation, is reinforces this statement. To his CD, Dane Cook brings in a plethora of new material, some of which even refers back to his old CD, Harmful if Swallowed. Each track is full of laughs, as is the DVD that comes with the set. The set itself is an incredible value containing two discs packed with hilarious material, and a DVD containing a few performances and "Shorties Watching Shorties" clips. His CDs containing off-the-wall laugh-out-loud abstract comedy that you can listen to over and over again. His originality is no problem either, as all of his material is new and fresh. I haven't heard any of the jokes presented on these CDs before, which makes it all even better. I already recommended this CD to all of my friends, and I would recommend it to anyone else who is looking for some good laughs.
Free Music Review: Hilarious, i also recommend "Harmful if Swallowed" Hit: 5 Stars
There is no real way to describe dane cook. In my opinion he is one of the funniest comedians alive today. You really need to experience it for yourself. And for $13.29 with supersaver shipping (amazon price at time of review) i highly highly recommend it.
If you enjoyed harmful if swallowed and his comedy central presents special, you will love this one too. This set comes with 2 full length cd's (about 50 minutes each) and a dvd. The cd's are just as good as his first, with a few more raunchy parts. The dvd is not as good as the one included in harmful if swallowed in my opinion. There is a lot less straight standup, only one short scene of it. The majority of the dvd is devoted to his crank yanker and shorties watching shorties appearances. These are also very funny, but i was hoping for more standup. There are also some excerpts from his tour.
Free Music Review: Laugh out loud hilarious!! Hit: 5 Stars
I instantly became a fan of Dane Cook after seeing his special on Comedy Central a year ago. I bought his CD/DVD Harmful If Swallowed which made me love him even more. He has matched his first CD/DVD with this one with fresh material! (However, if you've seen him live he does repeat some of the jokes he has done live, but if you haven't this is completely new to you.) You get 2 CD's and a DVD (3 discs total). Unfortunately the DVD that comes with this album doesn't have much of his stand up routines. It features his Crank Yankers episodes, Shorties Watching Shorties, along with some other extras like the roast of Dennis Leary. The DVD that came with the Harmful If Swallowed album contained alot more stand up, but the good thing about this new album is that you get 2 audio CD's instead of 1. So you can laugh for twice as long.
Free Music Review: Ba-Gow! Let's do this!!! You bring the cashews. Hit: 5 Stars
If 5 stars is th best then I give this "five-teen" stars or more than 5 but less than umpteen. If you have not listened to it yet it must be because you have been taking a coma or you just have not been exposed, nay flashed, to Dane Cook.
For those of you that heard Harmful if Swallowed, get ready for more freaking fantastical comedy. This is hilarious. I've seen him in person a couple of times and his humor does better than just hold up on CD. The DVD also gives those of you a glimpse into Dane's stage presence and offers some teasers for future works such as the recently broadcast Las vegas show with Dave Attel.
I laughed, I cried, I bled. That's about all there is else to say other than if you don't buy this CD you should be chaired in the face.
Ba-gow!
Free Music Review: Hilarious! Hit: 5 Stars
I heard a clip from this CD while listening to Keith and the [...]. I am not a comedy CD type guy, but I was compelled to order this one immediately. I laughed so hard that my stomach hurt! Even better, I listened to the CD a few days later and still laughed -- sign of a good comedy set. Cook's comedy is insightful, managing to touch on both the absurd and the everyday, often in the course of the same joke.
I also appreciate the value. The CD is actually composed of two CDs and a DVD (creatively titled "Want", "Need", and "Have") at a price only slightly more than a single CD. I will admit that the "Want" CD is much better than "Need" and "Have" is little more than an afterthought. But, given its acute comedy, I believe that "Want" would have been worth the money all by itself.
