The influence of Jim Reeves shows strongly on this collection of Christmas classics, which is dominated by ballads. Not only did Jim record several of these songs, but Daniel's singing style is similar to the later recordings of his idol.Daniel is in his element singing ballads. His renditions of An old Christmas card, Pretty paper, Christmas long ago, When a child is born, C.H.R.I.S.T.M.A.S., Christmas story, The gift and others are flawless.
The tempo picks up a little on Santa Claus is coming to town and Rocking around the Christmas tree, which works quite well although they are taken at a slower pace than usual.
If you are familiar with Daniel's music, this album sounds exactly as you would expect it to, otherwise, if you enjoy Jim Reeves, Andy Williams, Perry Como and others like them, give Daniel a listen.

As usual..Daniel has once again shown his talents in this album with Christmas favorites for all ages.The younger folks will enjoy "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" and " I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus". Parents canno't help but dance along with "Rockin'Around The Christmas Tree" and Grandma and Grandpa will croon along with "White Christmas" and "Silent Night".Plus many more songs that will bring back memories of Christmases past. The last song on the album "The Gift" will bring a tear to your eye and a joy to your heart. Thank You Daniel for a job well done ...done as only Daniel could do it. If you have never heard this man sing , you are in for a treat hearing this recording. I can only say ,it is FANTASTIC !!

I believe this is one of the truely outstanding Christmas albums.I have 23 CDs of Daniel and would not trade them for anything. I believe Daniel is a great singer and is a great performer. I have seen his show on 3 different occasions and have truely enjoyed each one. He gives his heart to performing and you do not walk away disappointed. He does't give you one or two hours but 3 hours of solid performance. I will be attending two shows in Branson in Nov 2003. Because of the fact that i could not find this sought after CD in South Africa,i must say that i was really overwhelmed when eventually i found it with Amazon.Even though it is a Christmas CD and it only reached me in January,i now can play wonderfull Christmas music in the new year.Amazons' service was amazing,and what they offered,i got.I will definitely make use of the service againFree Music Review: ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!!

His voice is just wonderful and soooo easy on the ears to. :)
I have many (including this Christmas one) of his albums and listen to him daily, especially his
"Song of Inspiration".
If your into a tenor voice he is the choice to make.
