Though Elfman's music does start to sound the same after a while, I ::heart:: this album. The Oompa Loompa songs are taken from the poems in the book, which I think is very awesome. My typical morning consists of a cup of coffee and 'Augustus Gloop', followed by 'Violet Beauregarde'.
Highly reccommended. :)

This is you typical Elfman-work. So, it is (of course) amazing...But one thing I really enjoyed about this soundtrack are the Oompa Loompa songs. They really, really remind me a lot of Oingo Boingo [Elfman's band before he was only a composer (for the un-informed)] which is awesome because I am a big Oingo Boingo fan.Free Music Review: Haunting and Catchy

This album is ah-mazing! The tracks are catchy and energetic, yet haunting and Tim Burton-esque. Seeing how they are used in the movie doubles the pleasure. I especially enjoyed all the Oompa-Loompa tracks - can you spell hilarious? I can: E-L-F-M-A-N. A real treat for Danny Elfman fans. One of his best soundtracks yet! Catchy tunes describe the fates of beastly Veruca Salt, gluttonous Augustus Gloop, gum chomping Violet Beauregard and snotty Mike Teevee. This CD is great! All of the songs and score from the movie! We enjoy figuring out when the music is played in the movie while we are in the car, and it is a great disc to help you do chores around the house or to listen to at work. We purchased a copy for ourselves and gave one as a gift. Absolutely recommended!
