I LOVE to listen to this VERY SPECIAL cd, just like the movie you get the same feeling,it's COOL,fun,beautiful...and magical :)
So if you LOVED/LOVE the movie you will LOVE the cd,it's a MUST HAVE ;)
Favorite tracks:"Veruca Salt","Augustus Gloop","Main Titles","Loompa Land",and many nice classical moments.

I loved the movie. Impressed with the special and visual effects, and the cast (Johnny Depp's portration of Willy Wonka was good, he made me laugh many times in the movie). But I also loved the score. The main titles were incredible. And the song for the four kids' demise was great. Augustus Gloop's song was like a tribal dance, Violet Beauregarde's was like 80's music, Veruca Salt's was a bit like Queens and Mike Teavee's was futuristic. I have not yet seen the movie but after listening to the soundtrack, it makes me more eager to see the movie. The songs are no where near the same as the original songs, but that doesn't mean there bad. There are some very catchy tunes, so i will give you this warning.

Long story short: Danny Elfman is THE BEST modern day composer. His music is UN-FREAKING-BELEIVABLE, and his Charlie score is nothing short of breath-taking. The movie is already one of the best of all time, but the music makes it one that CANNOT be missed! Simply put: If you enjoyed the music from Nightmare Before Christmas and Edward Scissorhands, this is an absolute must own soundtrack!
