Free Music Review: Sharon vs Janet vs George Martin

Some months after 9-11 I was listening to NPR, they had an interview with this amazing lady, Sharon Jones. I found the mentioned CD in Denver and so glad I bought it. May and June of 1986 I was living in lower Manhattan, training with ( yes ) EF Hutton. Had to vacate just before the re-dedication of the refurbished Statue of Liberty. The hot song at the time was Janet Jackson's "What Have You Done for Me Lately". Great ear candy. Now Janet's version seems like the cover, Sharon is the original. I didn't get the power of the lyrics until I heard Sharon's mighty mighty version. An album than makes you cry, makes you laugh. The Beatles appeared after JFK's assassination, but their music evolved into something that could not be performed on the stage. Sharon Jones 8 years later is still watchable and amazing, with the house band to die for. Dap-Kings backing up The Heavy on Letterman early 2010 proved that, "How You Like Me Now". Thank you Dap-Kings and Sharon, keep the music performable. We want you, not some computer program and sound board tricks....
