I've been a fan of Darren's since he first came out w/ Savage Garden. I, fortunately, got to meet him in person at the release of his last album "Spin". The Tension and the Spark has impressed me way beyond any other work he has done, it is soulful, the lyrics are very strong; his vocals are the best I've ever heard. I like every song the CD has to offer and anyone who has given this CD a bad review is simply wrong.Free Music Review: Why do great albums like this go unnoticed...

It never fails to amaze me how often that great musical work goes completely unnoticed by the mainstream and radio. This album falls into that category. Each song is great and of course Mr. Hayes' pitch-perfect vocals are always a pleasure to the ears.
If you liked his previous work with Savage Garden, you should definitely pick this CD up - it's definitely worth adding to your collection of favorites!

Every single song is fantastic on this album. My favourite songs are 'Darkness', 'I like the way', 'Unlovable' and 'Ego'.
This album is the reason why I am a huge fan of Darren Hayes now. However don't listen to this album expecting to hear typical radio-friendly pop music. It is a different approach compared to his first solo album 'Spin', but I will assure you that it is definetely the better approach.

This cd is just awesome. It is way better then Spin was. The songs are so deep and thought provoking. Darren just seems to get better and better with each album. Can't Wait For The Next. Overal best tracks to me off "The Tension and The Spark" would be Light,Popular,Dublin Sky,Unlovable,Sense Of Humor,Void, and I Forgive You.
Definitly worth every penny.

This is probably the best album yet from Darren, breaking away from the pop he is best known for 'The Tension and The Spark' has electronic beats, synthesisied melodies and compelling lyrics. His vocal performance is just as incredible as ever and lends something extra to this style of music, all of which making this album well worth buying. :) Buy it. Now.
