I can't add much to all of the 5 star reviews that have already been written so I will simply say 2 things:
1. I don't understand WHY this album hasn't been released in the US (although Popular is way up on the Billboard dance charts)
2. Get this album and listen to it - after all, the only thing that matters at the end of the day is the singer and the song - both are fantastic and you will have this album on continual play in whatever cd player you have nearby. Brilliant album Darren!!
Free Music Review: An Overlooked Gem

Why oh why was only one song released from this album as a single? This is a work of art on every level. The only duffer is "Light" (and even that song's listenable). Every other track on this album is outstanding in every way - lyrically, vocally, production-wise and melodically. It's a shame on his latest material Darren seems to have gone back to his saccharine, love song thing because this darker-edged album really shows Darren at his very best. Probably the best album to come out of 2004Free Music Review: Another masterpiece!

I have always loved Darren's voice, from the moment I heard "I want You" on the radio when I was in junior high. I kept praying for a new album, and was thrilled with Affirmation. Spin was a great break away from Savage Garden, but The Tension in the Spark is such a guilty pleasure that I can't stop listening to it. Each track is dark and I can feel what Darren is singing. The emotions are pushed to the limit and everything he says is true. I would recommend this as Darren's BEST CD so far.Free Music Review: Pleasant Surprise!

When I first listened to this CD, I was not impressed. However after listening a few times I began to see what Darren had done. Bloody brilliant I say! I truly enjoy this CD. It reminds me that we all have dark periods and come through them. What a cathartic the CD must have been!! Yes, this music is very different to that of the romantic side of Savage Garden but it is so worth experiencing! When you really listen, you will see the meaning and appreciate the album.Free Music Review: Breathtaking!

This album is breathtaking and incredible. I love the feeling Darren puts into these songs. It's been a long while since I have heard an album as good as this one. If you love the voice of Darren Hayes then this album is definitely one to add to your music collection. I play this CD almost all weekend long every weekend and never tire of it. Each time I listen to it, I am amazed at the power and emotion Darren puts into it.
