Free Music Review: Greatness
Hit: 5 Stars

If you're a longtime DMB fan, you shouldn't have to look at other people's reviews. You know that you have unique favorites and some songs don't appeal at first to beginners. This review is for those who are new to DMB:

1. So Much To Say - 7/10 - Welcoming guitar rythm, catchy beat. I recommend downloading it for beginners.

2. Two Step - 10/10 - Incredible. The intro sets up the song beautifully for the famous "Celebrate we will" chorus. Many fans' all-time favorite song.

3. Crash Into Me - 8/10 - You've probably heard it. Radio friendly song.

4. Too Much - 7/10 - Jazzy uptempo song. Another good one.

5. #41 - 9/10 - One of my favorites along with Two Step. So smooth, so good.

6. Say Goodbye - 7/10 - Not for beginners. Although it is undoubtly a great song, it takes time to appreciate it.

7. Drive In Drive Out - 6/10 - For beginners. It will appeal for the first listen, but after a while it falls down the ranks as others move up. But there isn't a poor song on this cd anyways.

8. Let You Down - 6/10 - Not one of their most well acclaimed songs. Skip it.

9. Lie In Our Graves - 9/10 - I love it. Loved by everyone I know. Highly recommended. You can't go wrong.

10. Cry Freedom - 7/10 - Not great, but not bad. If you're a new fan, stick to other songs.

11. Tripping Billies - 9/10 - Another great song. Upbeat, and loved by everyone.

12. Proudest Monkey - 8/10 - A long mellow song. Not bad though.

In conclusion, this albums is a good place to start. So Much To Say, Two Step, Crash, Too Much, #41, Lie In Our Graves, and Trippin Billies are songs that should be listened to first.

Free Music Review: Great stoner album.
Hit: 4 Stars

This album is great to listen to in the evening, just as the sun is setting while being stoned and in love.

Free Music Review: So much to say about this CD
Hit: 5 Stars

Crash is most likely the best Dave Matthews Band recorded CD. And it's not just because of Crash Into Me! Even Too Much recorded does not even sound that good. It's definately the DMB songs that are not as famous among the public, but known among DMB fans that make this CD. Two Step, Drive In Drive Out, Lie In Our Graves, and Tripping Billies are what make this second recorded release of DMB so worth while.

1. So Much To Say- a good opener. Kind of a sing along type song and not to stereotype, but it kind of sounds like What Would You Say with Beauford singing backup vocals on the chorus.

2. Two Step- my favorite on the CD. It might be even better than the live versions. Has a dark overall tune that nicely blends with a happy chorus.

3. Crash Into Me- the most famous song on the album. This is one of the few love songs I have ever liked, but again who could not like it. It has a sweet and simple tune. Mostly Dave shines in this song.

4. Too Much- the most upbeat of all the songs on the album. Boyd does a good job with the violin here. The song combines hard blowed wind instruments with Dave's accoustic.

5. #41- slower song with still a trace of a rockish tune.

6. Say Goodbye- very peaceful song with the slow drums and the flute. This CD has some alsome songs and others that are just okay. This is one of them.

7. Drine In Drive Out- one of the most real rockish like DMB songs. The tune is not happy like Too Much but is still very upbeat. I like how Boyd's violin is intergrated.

8. Let You Down- another very peaceful song. It's still pretty good but compared to other DMB songs it's okay.

9. Lie In Our Graves- an unusual guitar sound combined with drums and all other sorts of instruments. Dave's accoustic sounds alsome here.

10. Cry Freedom- it's okay, slower. It almost seems like Dave's playing an electric here but it is supposed to be an accoustic still.

11. Tripping Billies-one of the few DMB songs you can just go crazy and dance to. Simular to Too Much's upbeat sound but that's a very poor comparison because as we all know DMB's songs sound all completly different.

12. Proudest Monkey- the longest song on the CD that's okay. Basically the same tune throughout the whole song. This one can get boring.

Free Music Review: A must have
Hit: 5 Stars

The first CD i ever owned was Crash when i was 13 years old. Even then i loved it. There are a few things that make this album great. 1)First of the instumentals on this album are incredible. For example the acoustic guitar in "so much to say" and "lie in our graves is great. It offers and catchy and exciting opening to the songs that make you come begging for more.2) One thing i love about this album is that is all upbeat all the songs make you feel good inside. Overall this is one of my favorite albums of all time and I highly recommend it to anyone. [...]

Free Music Review: Two stars for two great songs. Keep in mind I'm generous
Hit: 2 Stars

Now, don't get me wrong; I actually enjoy Pop/Rock Adult Contemporary; just as long as it's from a consistently good band. Bands like The Spin Doctors, Blues Traveler, and Hootie & the Blowfish have all made at least one consistently good album. The Spin Doctors had 'You've Got to Believe in Something', Blues Traveler had 'Four', and Hootie had 'Cracked Rear View'. The Dave Matthews Band is so hit-and-miss that it truly is of those bands that has only released a few good singles. 'Under the Table' only had two good songs ("What You Say" and "Ants Marching"), and this album follows suit ("Crash" and "Too Much"). I suppose my main beef with The Dave Matthews band is the lack of hooks in their songs. Call that superficial if you want, but a certain amount of catchiness does make or break a band's songs. All in all, The Dave Matthews Band (and the man himself) are, as others have pointed out, utterly bland, even for Adult Contemporary Rock. My suggestion is to get the four songs I mentioned above from a friend, and then to go down to your nearest record emporium and buy some music from the other bands I mentioned above. While you're at it, get some tunes from Sting and The Police. See? There are so many better alternatives to the album filler of Dave Matthews.
