Free Music Notes for Live at Folsom Field - Boulder, ColoradoFree Music Review: Amazing!!! Hit: 5 Stars
Some of these earlier "critics" are on drugs! This cd is magical. I didn't purchase it with very high expectations but it sure left me tapping and smiling like a fool. This is a perfect blend of "Red Rocks" (best cd EVER) and "Luther College." It combines the raw power of RR and the softness of LC. Some added lyrics onto amazing "old favorites." Hey, I'm 56 years old and have seen and heard every rock star in the last 40 years - Elvis, Dylan, Beatles, Stones, Clapton, Allmans, Bruce, et.al. None of them come near these guys as songwriters, musicians or performers (well, maybe Mick is better as a performer). Unfortunately, most good rock music died around 1980 or so. For the last 10 years these guys continue to be the 'best of what's around.' Buy it -- you'll love it.
Free Music Review: A Favorite From Down Under.. Hit: 5 Stars
As an avid music fan I appreciate live music as most Australians do. I tell you now, do not hesitate in purchasing this cd. The version of 'Angel' will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end. 'Bartender' is full of soul as is 'All Along The Watchtower'. Dave's voice doesn't skip a beat and the band are in fine form. It is undeniably DMB's best live cd, the sound is supurb and very raw. You can't help sing and dance. The playlist covers all classics from 'Crash' 'Everyday''Under the Table & Dreaming' and ' Busted Stuff'. If you all knew how lucky you all are to be able to see him live and anyone at this particular concert this experience and energy would have to stay with you for the rest of your life... I am waiting for the day...
Free Music Review: LOVE IT!! Hit: 5 Stars
Im one of the greatest lovers of DMB and their music... and usually i dont appreciate live albums all that much... bands usually go off and just get lost in the song- or another completely different song! Dont get me wrong- this is awesome when youre actually there... but otherwise its just annoying. I never gave the DMB live albums a chance, but decided now would be a better time than ever. Ive absolutely fallen in love with this album!! Everything i said before about the annoyingness doesnt even relate to this... its unbelievable to hear these versions of the songs we all love! I would reccomend this album to anyone who loves the musical talents of Dave, Carter, Leroi, Boyd, and Stefan. <:OD
Free Music Review: DMB Does It Again! Hit: 5 Stars
This is another classic live album from the Dave Matthews Band. The songs are great, rockin' as always, with some nice jams. I'm not a fan of some of the Everyday songs on the album, but those are made up for by some classics like Crash, What Would You Say, and Ants. One of the best tracks by far, in my opinion, is Everyday, believe it or not. This 8 minute song is filled with jams and fused with #36 at the beginning and end to make it a very upbeat song. Starting it off with the chorus "honey honey come and dance with me" and ending on the same note with some music from #36 is amazing. All in all, a great cd that every dave fan should have.
Free Music Review: Off the chain... Hit: 5 Stars
This show was sick. The set list was amazing and the band was on point the whole show. Drawing from every album but primarily newer stuff, this is easily the best live album to date. Highlights for me are the newer stuff, including "when the world ends" and "bartender" which most people heard from the busted stuff extra DVD, but also #36 version of "Everyday." OF the older songs, "warehouse" had a great intro with the fans getting into it, and the encore ("2step" & "ants") was incredible. There is not a bad song on either CD. I thought "i did it" and the sometimes overkilled "watchtower" were great. THIS IS A MUST HAVE!!!
