Free Music Notes for Live at Luther CollegeFree Music Review: unbelievable Hit: 5 Stars
Dave Matthews is the man. that basically sums it up. i absolutely adore this cd. of course, i also am completely in love with dmb. dave's genius is practically unparalleled in today's popular music. today's poetry IS music, and dave is one of the greatest poets i have ever had the sublime pleasure of hearing. he has so much feeling and emotion in his music, and his songs actually say something. he has discovered a profound beauty in disorganization and random thought. just sit down and read the lyrics to his songs sometime. it blows my mind. he's wonderful. i love this album mainly because dave can actually perform live. most artists suck live, but dave is amazing. the guitar riffs are incredible and i love the commentary, plus, it gives you all the classics with a bit of an edge. listening to the cd makes me feel like im at a dave concert. its almost surreal. i would definately reccomend this cd to anyone who appreciates the brilliance that is dave matthews. i cant say anything bad about this cd. dave is the man.
Free Music Review: Oh, wow! It gives me the such a sensation! Hit: 5 Stars
I have to say, this is a fantastic CD. This is the first CD of Dave Matthews that I have purchased. I think I made the right choice with the selection that I had at the store.I hear his stuff on the radio and hardly take the time to purchase anyone's CD. But this was a definate buy. The live version was better than I thought it would be. The mixing was fantastic. You were able to hear them playing and singing without a bunch of background interruption. The choice of songs were a great mixture and were played in such a way that you could go from a foot tapping mood to sensual reality to almost hard rock. The song that I enjoyed the most was, "Say Goodbye." Boy, did that strick a current moment in my life! I would love to see the lyrics of it. All of the songs were great! I didn't realize what I had been missing! Keep me informed of information about this band and others! Let me know where I can find the lyrics, too! Thanks a million! Rene'
Free Music Review: I only gave it five stars because I couldn't give it 7. Hit: 5 Stars
I disagree with the "daveheads" who say that this album is only for true DMB fans. In my opinion, they are using their familiarity with Dave's material to play the underappreciated scholars and poo-poo the rest of the music world. I had never listened to much Dave Mathews, and what I had heard struck me as average if anything. I was out at a friends house recently and he put on this record. It was clearly Dave Matthews, but it was with an emotion and energy that I didn't pick up from his other recordings. Everyone should hear this album at least once, if not shell out the dough and buy it. Ignore the "daveheads" who have labeled this album "for diehard DMB fans only." Because Dave has produced superior work with Tim in concert only available to the public through obscure bootleg tapes is no reason to knock this album. It's one of the greatest acoustic albums of all time, and you don't need to be a lifelong fan of Dave Matthews to appreciate that.
Free Music Review: IS YOU ONLY OWN ONE CD THIS SHOULD BE IT Hit: 5 Stars
i have every peice of recorded dmb you can imagine from imports to bootlegs to interviews you name it i have. i bought live at luther about a month ago and it is easily my favorite. as a long time fan and admirer of tim reynolds i am glad to see the less than devoted fans finally have a chance to experience him, and you finally get a chance to hear stream, wich is some of the best recorded live music to date. and to all the authors of those reviews i have recently read, most of whom only heard of dmb when under the table came out, that is what it is all about dave and tim by themselves playing to faithful fans before they became big, just listen to the fans sing along you can tell they know most of the songs by heart. to anyone who has read this far, whether your a fan or not, give this cd a try. and if you like that one and would like to hear more, or you like the horns and fiddles and other assorted embellishments then check live at red rocks (my previous favorite).
Free Music Review: dave matthews need i say more Hit: 5 Stars
This DMB classic showcases the emense talents of the bands other guitarist Tim Reynolds whom unkown to most plays on every Dave Matthews album. If you like the Band you will love this cd. The acoustic renditions of your favorite songs give a much more easy listening feel to them. Let's face it right now unless Robert Plant got his voice back and John Bohnam rose from the dead the Dave Matthews Band is the best live act in the world. This album has so many good songs that you may not have discovered yet like granny, minarets, one sweet world, christmas song, seek up and so on if you just own the 3 studio albums. I have seen a acoustic and regular live show and both were abosultely fabulous the music is so good I have to restrain from soiling myself. Bottom line if you don't have a of the cds this will expose you to a wide range of great songs and if you are a avid Dave Matthews fan this will let you see them in a different light. Any Dave Matthews is good music.
