Free Music Notes for Live at Red Rocks 1995Free Music Review: A Must-Hear Album, This Live Album "Rocks." Hit: 5 Stars
Clocking in at over 10 minutes, the opening song of this concert, Seek Up, perfectly gives you an idea what to expect during the rest of this incredible live performance. An excellent mix of songs played with tremendous skill by a tremendously talented group of musicians who pull out all the stops. Without seeing them, you could almost swear that Carter Beauford was drumming with more than two arms. Listen to his awesome two-minute solo that opens up #36. Then listen to the extraordinary build-up during the violin solo at the end of Dancing Nancies. Listen to the great sax work on Best of What's Around. This band has such a unique sound. This is one of the best live albums you can buy, by ANY artist. Even if you own all of their studio albums, you are in for a pleasant listening experience. Highest Recommendation.
Free Music Review: This CD will make you a definite DMB fan Hit: 5 Stars
Dave Matthews Band is surely one of the unprecedented bands of these times, what with all the trendy bands, and this album can attest to that originality. I remember my roomate in college playing Dave's "Under the Table & Dreaming" and "Between these Crowded Streets". I made nothing of it though. However, I found myself at a local Borders one day and heard this album playing in the PA. Any true fan of DMB knows that to appreciate DMB, you have to listen to him live, so I asked the clerk the name of the album, and I immediately bought it. I must say I have played this album more than 100 times, and I am yet to get tired of it. Guest guitarist Tim Reynolds also spices up the stage with some of his improvisation. Undisputely, one of the best DMB albums to date. And it is sure to make you a fan.
Free Music Review: The Dave Matthews Band's best album to date! Hit: 5 Stars
What can I say that hasn't been said already? Many of you have praised this album to be their best, simply because it is live, and because you get a feel of the energy that goes on at their live shows. This album has many of DMB's best songs, played with all of their hearts and talents. Each member contributes so much.People like me, who haven't had the opportunity to see the great Dave Matthews Band live (but soon will, I promise you that!!!), should treasure this album as a peice of what is felt live. Although this isn't the same as a live show (as so many lucky people who've been to their love shows have said), it's as close as you can get without actually being their. Dave Matthews Band has topped themselves again, and I cannot wait until their other live album comes out in the next few months!
Free Music Review: One of my favorite albums! Hit: 5 Stars
I've had the album for only a few weeks, an it is not only my favorite DMB album, it's one of my favorite albums EVER. Songs such as Ants Marching, Tripping Billies, and Drive, in Drive Out show the band's incredible talent (as a drummer, I can say with no doubt that Carter Beauford is THE best drummer in popular music, as are all the band members), and Typical Situation and Satallite show why Dave is the best male singer in pop. When I'm watching the Grammys, and practicly crying because so much of the popular music now days is performed by kids with little or no talent as players or writers, it's nice to know that there is a band out there putting out CD's like this.A must. (Before These Crowded Streets is a better album than Sharyl Crow and Brian Setzer ever heard, DMB should have one both awards)
Free Music Review: greatest LIVE album from the greatest live band!!! Hit: 5 Stars
If you haven't had the good fortune to experience one of DMB's incredible live shows, then 'Red Rocks' is as close as you will get. I have seen them 23 times and each show is 3 hours of pure musical bliss!! This cd showcases the band at their best...live and full of energy. This will likely go down as my favorite 'live' album ever and it is still my favorite from DMB. This has most of the songs that the long time fans love...before the 'Everyday'cd. The best thing about DMB is that they still allow fans to record their shows and trade them amongst each other, so long as the seller does not make a profit. If you only own 1 Dave Matthews Band album, 'Red Rocks' is the one to have. I can't help but smile everytime I listen to it, it takes me right back to all the concerts.
