Free Music Review: This One Rocks
Hit: 5 Stars

I discovered DMB with their newest material. I must admit I kind of had a hard time getting used to their older work, which sounded slightly different. But in time, with this CD, this didn't keep up. Once again, I just fell in love with the sound. The band members' performances are astonishing. Even though their studio albums are great too, the DMB really is at its best performing live. Beauford's performance at drums is once again incredible all along the album (and especially on Seek Up and Drive In Drive Out). With Lessard's perfect bass playing, they bring the rhythm section to impressive heights. Moore's solo on Lie In Our Graves is also quite impressive. This album is a must have for any DMB fan as well as a great way to get to know them.

Free Music Review: so raw, so pure, so great
Hit: 5 Stars

From the opening notes of seek up to dave introducing tim reynolds at the end of watchtower this album is just mind-blowing. A must have for any starting fan or die hard fan as well. This album contains the songs and sounds that dmb fans love. Highlights of this album include seek up, two step, lie in our graves, dancing nancies (which contains in my opinion one of their all-time best jams and probably the best on album), tripping billies, the drum solo in #36, the fans singing on ants marching and of course watchtower. The only song that is not as good as the others is proudest monkey but believe me it is still good. One more comment--Tim Reynolds plays electric guitar throughout the entire album and he sounds terrific. Definitely dmb's best album.

Free Music Review: Wonderful intro to DMB: everythings perfect
Hit: 5 Stars

I got this at the library the other day and love it now, especially DM's strange contorted singing that is haunting and beautiful all at once, not to mention the playing of the band. Pick this up ASAP, don't wait 3 years like I did. This cd is always worth having! While there are better jam bands, like phish, I actually like DMB better because they seem more like honest musicians and players, especially in a live setting. No hype, just music. If you are trying to "get" dave matthews, unlike other bands there is nothing to get. He is just there playing his songs. So get it and be amazed!

ps see if you can pick out all of the John Denver musical and vocal references (hee hee) my sister freaked out when she heard them!

Free Music Review: excellant
Hit: 5 Stars

The Dave Matthews Band has never ceased to continue pumping out great music, Live at Red Rocks is definatly no exception. Even though I'm only 14, Dave has been a favorite for sometime. Their live shows are amazing and putting out this live album just shows the world their ability to, well, rock. Live at Red Rocks pulls together all their best stuff. From the spoky, yet cool Seek Up to the awesome cover of Jimi Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower (my personal favorite). All in all Dave Matthews sound pulls together jazz and folk with a country feel, all things a person my age generally wouldn't be caught dead listening to, and makes it in a word, fun. Thanks dave, pretty good seein ya (Ed. Ved.)

Free Music Review: A new album, and 10 minutes to spare
Hit: 5 Stars

I almost forgot to buy this album. Really, I did. I knew it was being released and forgot to go get it until 30 minutes before class the day it came out. But, I have to say, those 30 minutes were some of the most musically charged minutes in my life. I managed to listen to maybe 2 songs in that time, and those minutes will stay with me forever. The power of live music is not something to be missed by anyone, but something gets added to the experience when you are also running at fever pitch like the performers. I recommend throwing this album in the CD player about 10 minutes before you have to walk out the door. Then, even if you have never been at a DMB show, you can feel like you have.
