Free Music Notes for David ArchuletaFree Music Review: D.A. new C.D. is Addictive!! Hit: 5 Stars
I'm a big fan of David A.'s but listened to his C.D. objectively....it's very diversified....ballads, harder rock (Desperate), pop love songs, etc...My favorite is "Don't Let Go" (besides Crush)...the octave is pitch-perfect for him and he sings this song alittle flirtey (really cute!!) Desperate is done beautifully too...not too many singers can go from a happy/peppy song in "Don't Let Go" to harder rock and do them equally fantastic!!! You can't compare David A. to David Cook...it's like comparing Michael Buble' to Pink Floyd....all just a matter of personal taste. This whole C.D. is GREAT!!! The thing is....David Archuletas voice and style "Lift Me Up" and add to my energy, where as many artists unintentionally bring your spirit down...I like to feel "good" so I'm gonna stick with Mr. A.....Can't wait for his next C.D!!
Free Music Review: An absolute joy to listen to! Hit: 5 Stars
I honestly wasn't sure what to expect from this CD. Obviously, I knew I'd enjoy simply because of his voice, which is stellar. But I didn't know what the songs would be like, if they'd chosen Crush as the single because it was the only catchy song on the CD. Well, that could not have been any farther off than it was.
I absolutely love every single song on this CD. They all have really catchy beats and melodies, with touching lyrics that can make your heart melt. It's a really nice mix of light-hearted, sweet pop songs like Crush, and Touch My Hand, and meatier songs like Desperate, To Be With You, and of course, Angels (the vocals of which just can't be beaten).
It's just an awesome CD, and has definitely become a new favorite. One that I'll be listening to over and over again.
Free Music Review: I was surprised Hit: 5 Stars
After hearing David sing "Imagine" on AI, I thought he would win easily. Unfortunately, it was all downhill from that point on. Well, not all downhill, but he didn't get better, which David Cook did. I was a huge Cook fan and still am. I'm hoping David Cook's CD is as good as this one.
I have to admit I am surprised with this CD. I really didn't think I'd like it, but it is really good. By far, I think the best song on the CD is Barriers, but I'm sure everyone has their own favorite. I read a few negative reviews saying that the CD is overproduced and there aren't enough songs that showcase his voice, but I think this CD has a great mix that includes a little of everything.
For a first CD, I highly recommend it. BTW, I'm no teeny bopper. I'm 45 and mostly listen to country.
Free Music Review: Well-done for a debut Idol CD done in such little time! Hit: 5 Stars
I always knew, watching Idol, that David Archuleta would be a huge hit someday. As soon as he signed with Jive Records, I was excited to see what would come of him. People thought that he wouldn't be able to put out a good album because he was just all about the boring ballads, but they weren't realizing that these are the sorts of things you have to sing on Idol!
I'm so satisfied with the way his album turned out. Pretty much EVERY song is good enough to be a radio hit. You might not like everything but there are a few songs for everyone. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT depend on web reviews to see what songs to buy or how good the album is. Listen to the songs first and then judge them, they're all really different and the songs that you do like may not be the style preferred by someone else. :)
Free Music Review: Crushes the Competition Hit: 5 Stars
How many times do you buy a CD and like every song on it? Almost never, right? Well this CD will be the exception. There isn't a clunker on the whole album. Every song is uniquely wonderful. No matter what your musical taste (as long as you enjoy pop), you will find something here you will love. There are the beautiful pop ballads (You Can, To Be With You, and Angels), the upbeat Crush and Touch My Hand, the R&B influenced Barriers, the powerful Pop/Rock song Desperate, even the touch of country with Your Eyes Don't Lie. David Archuleta has proven himself as a force to be reckoned with, both as a songwriter and as an incredible vocalist. Better yet, the songs actually get better and better with every replay. This album is sure to quickly soar to the top of the pop charts.
