I tell you, I was expecting a killer album.....and we got one. This kid is gonna please them all with this cd. It has pop appeal, ballads, a couple of plain upbeat, a dance type song, one that gets compared to Bonnie Rait, one compared to Bob Marley (Barriers, my favorite)
His voice sounds incredible and the fact that he brings his talent in and co-writes some of these makes it even more phenomenal

Enjoy the cd. David and his performances got me thru my cancer I am sure this cd will entertain you for awhile

I had completely forgotten that I had ordered this CD from Amazon months ago. I have just listened to the entire album for the third time since receiving it today and it is fantastic! Every song is great. The words are easy to understand. This is a great CD for kids or those that are young at heart. I think that Archuleta is quickly establishing himself as a voice that will endure. I think he will still be around 20 and 40 years from now wowing audiences. I am an American Idol fan, but not a David archuleta fantatic, so I did not expect to like this album as much as I did. Buy it now, or for your kids for Christmas. This is one of those rare albums that the family can enjoy together.Free Music Review: Completely and totally awesome!!!

I have been a fan of David Archuleta's since he first appeared on American Idol. His pure, lush, textured voice completely captivated me and his sweetness and humility stole my heart. In his debut album, David displays his ability to conquer all types of music, but is still the master of the soulful ballad. It is amazing to me how one so young can communicate complex emotional themes so beautifully and flawlessly. My personal favorite tracks include "You Can", "Desperate", "To Be With You", and "Angels", but all of the songs are performed exceptionally well by David Archuleta. I wish I could give this CD more that five stars, because David is definitely destined for superstardom.Free Music Review: Fantastic album, I enjoy every song!

I disagree with some people/critics saying the songs are generic and only for young girls.
As a grown man, I can totally relate to the specific story each song is telling, e.g. having a crush on a girl as in "Crush", feeling we are still in love after breaking up as in "Your Eyes Don't Lie". There are various music types for people of different tastes and ages, and some of the songs are written and co-written by him. Due to David's silky smooth delivery and unique arrangements of each song, I appreciate/enjoy more as I listen to the album multiple times.
We need more positive and talented singers like him, please buy this album, you won't be disappointed.

I'm telling you what.. this kid nailed it. The music is hip.. radio ready.. and there are still some balads in there for our listening pleasure. Really catchy tunes and an amazing voice - David Archuleta just cemented his future in music with this CD!!! You can honestly enjoy EVERY song on the CD.. highly recommend the bonus songs too!! If you haven't heard it yet, you're missing out. If you like to dance and you just appreciate really good tunes.. and if you're like me and impressed as heck by this young man.. you've GOT to get this CD. You're really going to love it. If for some reason he didn't impress you on American Idol... listen to him now! He's going to be legendary.
