Free Music Notes for Grown BackwardsFree Music Review: The most beautiful songs ever!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
If you like David Byrne's music, then buy it now because it is so much better than the other albums. Obviously Mr. Byrne have thought this album with a lot of time and effort to bring us this jewel! The album includes great "original" songs such as "Civilization","The Man Who Loved Beer" and "Glass, Concrete & Stone". Besides, there are the songs and opera selections (he performs bits of Bizet and Verdi)!! Simply amazing. I highly recommend this album to anyone who likes good music! I can't stop listening to it! You'll be mad not to buy it!!!
Free Music Review: Strings! Hit: 5 Stars
I'm a huge fan of David Byrne and I must agree with all the reviewers: this is probably the best work since Talking Heads era. And I think the majesty of all these beautiful songs comes from the marvelous string arrengements. Just listen Tiny Apocalipse, The Man Who Loved Beer and the stunning version of Lazy. All the complex musical influences are totally equalized and there's no mistake at all. Simply wonderful. PS: Rufus Wainwright makes all the difference.
Free Music Review: Golden Voice Hit: 5 Stars
I have revisited David Byrne after a long hiatus and can not get enough of this album. He once again shows his range, vocally and creatively. With a glass of wine, low lights, a great stereo at high volume, this album will transport you. His ability to SING so damn well makes it worthwhile. I was blown away by his two operatic type songs......wow.
I am still riding this high and have been listening to this non-stop for 2 days now.
Free Music Review: radiantly progressive Hit: 5 Stars
Byrne's latest album is one of transcendant appeal through both time and space. He is on a world tour which is enjoying great success, one which will include a keynote performance at the 150,000+ visitor Bonnaroo Music Festival in Tenessee this June, which I have the great fortune to be attending. I am overwhelmingly anxious to see him perform such beautiful music on so grand a scale. I highly reccomend this album.
Free Music Review: Absolutely Incredible Hit: 5 Stars
I was absolutely floored by this album. As an avid Talking Heads and David Byrne, I was excited about the new release, and now that I've heard it I strongly recommend it. No two songs are alike, the instrumentations are funky and unusual in classic David Byrne fashion, and there's a duet with Rufus Wainwright to boot. If you love David Byrne you need this album. I can't emphasize enough how amazing this album is.
