Free Music Review: Admittedly Not DB's Masterpiece...
Hit: 5 Stars

...but Byrne's nadir surpasses most artists' peaks. (Not that this is his worst by a long shot.)
The beauty of Heads/Byrne is his turgid lyrics mean different things at different stages of life. Same has held true with this album after a few years of listening. Some songs that seemed brilliant the first time I heard them now seem a little silly, and some that flashed past back then have blossomed.
I wouldn't recommend this CD for someone who only had enough money to buy 5 of the greatest Heads/Byrne CDs; BUT probably would for someone who was buying the best overall 30 CDs.
If he's cashing in, at least this CD sucks much less than what Dylan, Petty, Jagger and the rest of these 60-somethings are putting out lately.

Free Music Review: Byrne's Best To Date
Hit: 5 Stars

The growth of David Byrne since his Talkng Heads days can be measured by each solo album (although Rei Momo is certainly a masterpiece). Each solo album is extraordinary, but David manages to top himself with each subsequent album. This pattern continues with this amazing CD. For the first time, I can hionestly say that each song is fantastic. You can listen to this CD without ever wanting to fast forward, although you may want to hear the same song over again, particularly The Great Intoxication which is one of the most beautifuls ongs ever. If radio stations don't play Like Humans Do, there is something seriously wrong. Any lover of Talking Heads, David Byrne, or just beautiful music must own this album.

Free Music Review: Evolution at its most beautiful!
Hit: 5 Stars

Since he disbanded the Talking Heads, I feel Byrne has grown immensely as a musician and songwriter. "Look Into The Eyeball" is a wonderful example of his ongoing adaptation and creativity. Every song has been thought through and structured so that the listner is sucked in and kept interested and entertained. Byrne takes you through some of his most beautiful emotions; his funkiest grooves; and on out to the far reaches of his imagination on this latest release. It is absolutely brilliant. I highly recommend this to all Talking Heads' fans and anyone else with an open ear and mind. ENJOY!

The best test... the way to prove if an album is really good or if it's clever for now but you'll be sick of it in twenty minutes, (like that "Chumbawamba" thing a while back) is to drive 1300 miles halfway across country and then see if you still want to listen to it right after you've been pulled over for speeding in Kansas. Thanks to this album I managed to relax and enjoy the rest of my trip. Thank you David Byrne for getting me out of Kansas safely and slowly. I even went out and bought "Feelings" for the trip home... though I'll be avoiding Lyon County and the Kansas Highway Patrol.
