Free Music Notes for Look Into the EyeballFree Music Review: Must Have Hit: 5 Stars
I'm not a big reviewer, but this is a great release. I have all the Talking Heads material and about half of Byrne's solo stuff. This is easily the one I listen to most. And it's not an album where I f-skip at all. Most of the songs pull their own weight. That this record can fly under the radar is amazing to me. If you are thinking about buying it and you like the Talking Heads, particularly their last few efforts, just buy it. You'll love it. I had zero reservation on giving it a 5-star rating.
Free Music Review: An excellent album! Hit: 5 Stars
This is an excellent album! Byrne's music is somewhat difficult to categorize, but, upon hearing, easy to categorize as David Byrne. This is the pleasure of David Byrne--each of his albums is wholly unique unto itself, but wholly David Byrne, and Byrne delivers again with this recording! The songs are at once vibrant, touching, disturbing, sensual, celebratory, off-kilter, and insightful. If you have been touched by David Byrne hitherto, you will be touched by this album.
Free Music Review: Favorite new CD in years Hit: 5 Stars
I love the blend of different styles on here. Many songs were very addictive after just one listen, especially Neighborhood. It seems that every time I listen to this I pick up a new favorite song, one that I just have to jump to before listening to the rest of the album. If you liked Talking Heads for the brilliant way David Byrne used his voice, you should get this.
Free Music Review: Best Album of 2001 Hit: 5 Stars
WOW - David Byrne is so brilliant! "Look Into the Eyeball" is definitely my favorite so far ... this album is excellent from start to finish. It is diverse, melodic, dance-able, and fun to sing along with! It only took one listen - and I was hooked! This is a must have album for Byrne fans! (And while you are at it, check out his live show ... SUPERB!)
Free Music Review: David Byrne = Creative Genius Hit: 5 Stars
I saw David Byrne in concert a few weeks ago. Not only did he play the new stuff (Look into the Eyeball) he also played some favorites from the Talking Heads days. He was wonderful (as always) and totally rocked! So I bought the CD. I cannot stop listening to it. It is superb! Only one complaint... at 39 minutes, it's far too short.
