Free Music Notes for It's Not FunnyFree Music Review: Big Christian, Big Fan Hit: 5 Stars
If there's one thing I love in this world, it's Christ. If there's two things I love in this world, it's Christ and David Cross's jokes! (If there's a third thing, it's my mocha-frappuccinos, but don't tell Weight Watchers!) But seriously, if you like good, clean, God-fearing comedy, this is the album for you. He does this one "bit" (or "joke") about the twelve apostles being like a professional basketball team that had me and the Mrs. in stitches -- I had to pull the Expedition over for fear of a wreck! What's great is that David can do "edgy" religious material without offending Our Lord -- like the one he does about Heaven being like a really big picnic, except the mayonnaise never goes bad. Where does he get this stuff?! This CD is a treat for anyone with a good, Christian heart and a sense of humor (sense of humor not included! ;-)). What would Jesus do? He'd buy this album... AND LAUGH! Praise the Lord, Praise David Cross and God Bless America.
Free Music Review: DAVID CROSS WILL BURN IN HELL!!!!!!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
So, David Cross thinks it's funny to make fun of religion, and our President, one of the smartest, most intelligentest, best smelling presidents we've ever had. Well, David Cross, I don't think YOU'RE very smart, and not at all funny! At one point in this terrible cd, this "funnyman" actually has the NERVE to ridicule the fact that George W Bush asked his troops to pray for him! I don't know about you, Mr Cross, but I think that when a young soldier is out in the trenches in the middle of the hot iraqui desert, facing his enemy and possible death, the LEAST he could do is take some time to pray for the man responsible for having him there in the first place! When they finally find Sadam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction (which I'm sure are buried in a secret high tech underground iraqui military base. Our President would NEVER lie to his people, he knows it's a sin to lie!) they should USE those weapons to NUKE every single copy of this god-awful cd!
Free Music Review: A great political comic Hit: 5 Stars
David Cross ranks right up there with Chris Rock and Lewis Black as one of the country's funniest political comics. Taking on some of his favorite topics such as the Bush administration, religion and racism, Cross absolutely pulls no punches. He isn't afraid to offend people, and in fact probably feels like he's accomplished something if he does offend. There are undoubtedly quite a few people who would be turned off by his abrasive style, but for the rest of us his sense of rage is electrifying. This CD obviously doesn't provide as much material as his previous 2-disc set, but the quality of the material is easily on par with his earlier material (and a bit more timely, too). If you're a fan, GET THIS CD. If you're not a fan yet, buy it and hopefully you will be.
Free Music Review: If you didn't laugh, you're probably racist and homophobic Hit: 5 Stars
This is probably one the most poignant bits of comedy I've ever had the fortune to experience. His poli-social commentaries are pointed, clever and funny. His delivery is brilliant. One reviewer of this CD said they hated his delivery and instead suggested Dave Attel? This leads me to only one conclusion: said reviewer watches only (and I mean ONLY) action movies and reads FHM. Well, who am I trying to kid? He looks at the pictures. For the rest of us that read the news and these crazy little inventions called books, David's delivery comes off as conversational as opposed to stammering. I'd rather have a comedian sound as if he were talking to me as opposed to dealing a series of one-liners, right? Yeah, "Hastalavista ... baby." Frickin' retard.
Free Music Review: Research before you complain! Hit: 5 Stars
I bought this CD in Boulder CO and listened to it on my way back home... and it was hilarious. Absolutely hilarious...For the people who have decided to write negative reviews and bash this cd, I respect your opinions, EXCEPT THAT MANY OF YOU ADMIT TO NEVER HAVING LISTENED TO THE CD! How does one complain before you know what you're complaining about? Additionally, I also cannot stand the complaints about him getting 'off God's path' because he is an Atheist. There is no grand joyous design to him, and furthermore, he was born Jewish. So exactly what would be wrong with Jesus bashing even if he was still religious? I rest my case. This is a fine follow up to his earlier album, and I'm sure there are many more hilarious ones to follow.
