Free Music Review: Brilliant and Subversive

The action doesnt really start until the 2nd disc (Im not really sure why they even included the 1st to be honest), but once he gets rolling David attacks the present Presidential adminsitration (including John Ashcroft) with wit, intelligence, and fire.Much of the humor is extremely edgy -- his bits about the child victims of the bombing in Afghanistan and about Bush's executions of mentally retarded criminals can be difficult to listen to not bcause they contain "language" (which they do), but because the topics which they address very bluntly are so horrifying. When Cross, imitating an Afghani child receiving food aid, says "I got a pudding cup for every member of my family killed by American bombs, and now I have seven pudding cups!" the revulsion arrives from the truth at the heart of the matter -- the real obscenity of civilian deaths in war.
Cross deserves major kudos for having the cojones to use his humor to spread Truth. This is a wonderful CD.
Free Music Review: Best Comedy Album I Have Ever Heard

I have not heard a ton of comedy albums, mostly the George Carlin and Bill Cosby albums my parents had while growing up. My favorite comedians are Bill Hicks and David Cross, with some Margaret Cho and Todd Barry. I can honestly say that this is the funniest thing I've ever heard in my life! Yes, it helps that I'm a liberal like Cross, but even if you're not, it's funny!!! In fact, my favorite bits aren't even political: Ricky Henderson, Harlow. I have this CD practically memorized, I have listened to it so many times. I just got the Let America Laugh DVD for Christmas, and I plan on wearing that out as well (the Squagel bit is funnier with visuals!).Free Music Review: FINALLY, SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T BLOW

This should be required listening for every bible-beating, flag-waving, Olive Garden-eating, O'Reilly Factor-watching, SUV-driving moron in America. But like most brilliant things, the very people who would benefit the most (and by "benefit the most" I of course mean "become more enlightened, unpatriotic, and cool like me") from seeing/reading/hearing it won't ever know it exists (or if they do, they'll simply smile in that creepy way, shake their fat heads, and say that they'll pray for David Cross). Makes me sick just thinking about it. Anyway, do yourself a favor and buy this album before John Ashcroft bans it in the name of Jesus...Free Music Review: Hilarious stuff

This show is almost two hours which is kinda long for a standup act. But it's worth it.
There are hilarious bits about the South, no football after September 11, the gay voice and a lot more.
His political tirades are very funny and the highlights of the CD. He is, like almost every stand up comedian, an avid Bush hater and his ideas about him and the war in Iraq reminded me of both George Carlin but also Michael Moore. They all point to things that are so obvious and bad about it but it still makes you laugh.
The rest is also funny so for a long trainride or airplane flight it's very good to listen to.

Both this and the newer release "Its not funny" are complete gems! I almost missed out on buying these albums when I considered the sophomoric opinions of some of the other reviewers. The content and delivery of David's sets are perfect--well worth the money! I've listened to them over and over again and still enjoy the well-honed style. I've had a great time sharing these cds with friends and family--everyone loves them. Do yourself a favor--ignore the flaccid, mainstream-minded protests (these are the same people who would accuse the Rolling Stones of having poor grammar and being gratuitously "naughty") and pick these up!!
