Free Music Review: I can now see the roots of Iona's first three albums :)

After hearing "Columba Aspexit" on Dave Bainbridge's "Songs for Luca", I wanted to hear more from Dave Fitzgerald. I love the atmospheric, new age sound, especially since in this case it is worship to the one true God. Dave Fitzgerald's sax playing blows me away!! So round, rich and clear is the sound of his sax. The compositions on this album are quite relaxing and good to 'soak' to.
The reason I gave it 4 stars is because some of the vocal tunes don't really seem to fit on the album...there are several instrumental tracks and then comes in Adrain Snell singing. Not anything wrong with the songs...it just didn't seem to fit.
After listening to this album, I can clearly hear the influence he had on Iona's first three albums: Iona, Book of Kells, and Beyond These Shores. They are more jazz than Celtic oriented, but amazing nonetheless!!!
If anyone is a diehard Iona fan and loves the saxaphone, this album is for you. I hope to purchase "Breath of Heaven" in the future, which contains "Columba Aspexit" mentioned above. Why should the devil have all the good music? Keep it coming Mr. Fitzgerald!!! God bless you.
