Free Music Review: David Garrett: Rock Symphonies

I was watching PBS via OETA (Oklahoma Educational Television Authority) during their August fund raising campaign, and David Garrett's concert from Berlin came on. I had never heard of him, which embarrassed me, quite frankly. His orchestra was 60 strong, performing before a crowd of 18,000 Berliners. I was totally blown away by this man's god-given talent. His rapport with the audience was immediate, infectious, and mesmerizing. Again, immediately I decided I just had to have the CD. My only regret is: the CD does not include his performance of Tommaso Albinoni's "Adagio", which is one of my all-time favorite symphonic pieces ever written, which I never get tired of listening to. As far as I'm concerned, owning a copy of either the DVD or CD is a "must-have", and should be included in your DVD/CD library. Doug Spriggs
