Free Music Notes for On an Island (CD/DVD)Free Music Review: Shine On! Hit: 5 Stars
Pay no mind to the brainless idiots out there running their ignorant mouths. If any of those fools had seen the live shows on the OAI tour, they would've been put in their place and understood the beauty of this CD. The guy is 60 years old for Christ's sake. David was, is and always will be, the man! I had the extreme pleasure of seeing and taping both nights at Radio City Music Hall, back in April 2006, and it was nothing short of incredible. Two of the best shows Ive ever seen/heard in my life and Ive seen some good one's. If you can get your hands on a bootleg of the second night at RCMH, you will understand and hear just how beautiful this CD truly is. Excellent work, David, and shine on old boy, shine on!!
Free Music Review: Age has no boundary Hit: 5 Stars
The funny thing about 'old rockers', they have perpective. Mr. Gilmour's Take Breathe is more that a breathe of fresh air, but giving life of rebirth. Here is a guy who was involved in one of greatest rock albums ever recorded, it was nominated for a grammy, only to lose to Bridge of Troubled Water back when. Politics, ya know. Can play any type of guitar style and he comes out with new gems. Technology has caught up with Gilmour but he is using it. This is an amazing piece of music! Anyone who is ever thinking about learning guitar, should listen to this.
Free Music Review: Outstanding Musicianship Hit: 5 Stars
David Gilmour is an incredible Song Writer & Musician. David has technical prowess on the guitar, in fact, many instruments -- his choice of notes, melodies, harmonies & rythyms keep me thinking of the possibilities, even in my own playing of Bass, Drums, Keyboards & Guitar. David's writing abilities have always been a source of inspiration with his thoughtful insight about Time, Space, Earthly Delights, etc. We will only get one David Gilmour. I highly recommend this album.
Free Music Review: More from a great artist Hit: 5 Stars
As a long time Pink Floyd fan, this is a welcome addition to my music collection. Most of this material is clearly Gilmour's talent coming out again. Since many of the folks from his PF tours are on this album, along with Rick Wright's last tour before his death, this album also touches some sadness & loss but the music is still there. I also have the DVD & it's the reason I bought this album. If you're a fan of either Gilmour or PF, this is a must.
Free Music Review: David Gilmore 5 Stars
I purchased this to add to my Pink Floyd collection. It still remains in it's original form with the plastic shipping cover. The best Pink Floyd Concert was held in 1988 in Dallas Texas. I was in the front row of the Concert. Why they chose to never release this in a DVD form puzzles me to this day. David Gilmore is unequaled as a lead guitar player.
