Free Music Review: An unexpected gem of 2006

While seeing Shooter Jennings on tour this year, I originally didn't even think about showing up until after any and all opening acts had finished their sets. I am SO glad that I showed up early! Not only does this band capture their live sound on album incredibly well, but I was even repeating songs on my ride home (after the band signed my CD after their show) that I'd wanted to hear again after their performance. The band is tight, the production is impeccable and the songs themselves are really well done. There's not one track on this album I ever skip over. My personal favorites are the Get Up Jake, Toe the Line, Moonlight Only Knows (which I've played at least 5 times on my radio show since purchasing the album) and Talkin' Born Blues. This is a great addition to the library of anyone who digs traditional country, country-twinged rock or country-flavored blues.
