Free Music Review: flawed?
Hit: 3 Stars

fantastic disc that is marred by shoddy production. all the levels are way to low. there,s a lot going on but it's hard to hear due to the mix. however the talent of the band is without a doubt top notch and should appeal to fans of origin, cephelic carnage, neuraxis, etc 3/5

Free Music Review: Unreal, Surreal and Epic
Hit: 5 Stars

This is the best album from any death metal band in over 10 years in my opinion. Sounds like a modern version of death metal in the vein of Death, Cynic, and Pestilence. If you like death metal, buy this album, no questions asked.

Free Music Review: Stepping Up To The Game
Hit: 5 Stars

I expected this to happen after listening to the 2006 pro, just like it happened with other Unique Leader affiliated bands like Odious Mortem and Severed Savior. Decrepit Birth made a giant step forward from something that was pretty good into something amazing. "Diminishing Between Worlds" is a mighty accomplishment, consisting of much improved production, amazing solos and riffs, and dissonant yet structured songs. It still retains its brutal edge it had on "...And Time Begins" even with its newly found technical and melodic edge, as heard on the remake of the song "...And Time Begins".

Don't miss out on this if you're into bands like later-era Death, Necrophagist, Anata, Spawn of Possession, and Gorguts.

Free Music Review: painting had Claude Monet, death metal has Decrepit Birth
Hit: 5 Stars

the first day i received Diminishing Between Worlds, i listened to it 8 times back to back. a month later, and i'm still giving it a daily spin. this album ups the musicianship and songwriting tenfold from their debut, and there is a huge and noticeable influence from later period Death...which is always a good thing.

no longer a Suffocation clone, Decrepit Birth's new cd seamlessly blends the technical porficiency and brutality of modern death metal with the melody and attention to detail from the genre's forefathers and first experimenters - Death, Cynic, Pestilence, Gorguts. the lyrics are intelligent, introspective and thought provoking, fitting in perfectly with the music...and the production on this cd is absolutely monstrous - i've been listening to metal for 13 years now, and this is one of the best productions i've ever heard on a death metal cd.

all in all, this cd is the culmination of everything good in the vision of Chuck Shuldiner when he and his band Death created the sound we call death metal. fans of technical, intelligent metal shouldn't miss out on this album for anything.
