Free Music Notes for HysteriaFree Music Review: Def Bites Hit: 5 Stars
One of the most sold rock albums in history released in 1987 and kept the top positions for a couple years more, is one of my top favorites of all time as well. If you have already tasted similarly styled recent great albums such as Euphoria and X you will see why the fans are not satisfied with even with recent gems. It's truly incredible. This album retains hard-edge while venturing into power pop crispness. Few of the rockers have ever done this in such lunatic manner. Even Jim Peterik of Survivor might have felt beaten.
Album starts with WOMEN with amazingly heavy-riffed intro and moves ahead into euphoric chorus. ROCKET, ANIMAL, POUR SOME SUGAR ON ME are such incrdible combination of tightness and catchiness which they failed to achieve well in recent X. GODS OF WAR is dyanamic and emblematic of the album conception HYSTERIA. and DON'T SHOOT SHOTGUN follows quite smoothly. Tension never fades until the last track LOVE AND AFFECTION.
Hysteria is a landmark melodic rock album and one of the last glory days of the genre. This boosted the rock taste into much aggressive and deadly direction which culminated into METALLICA'S Black Album.
Essential album for rock biters.
Free Music Review: One of the Greatest Albums Ever!! Hit: 5 Stars
I have listened to this album over and over since buying it about a year ago. I also bought Pyromania at the same time and I enjoy it just as much. I had no idea what to expect when I bought these two albums, all I knew is that I had heard a lot of good thing about them. So, what is so great about this album? first of all lets start with the singer/composer Joe Elliot. This guy has a voice that just screams Rock. His voice is unique and it never ceases to amaze me. I was also impressed when I found out that he composes all of their instrumentals. Somehow he is able to make all of the instrumentals flow together so smoothly.
Another great thing about this album is the Drummer Rick Allen. This guy has what it takes to be the icon of all drummers, and he only has one arm. I have played this album for a couple of my friends who are drummers and they can't figure out how he does it. Losing an arm would easily end the career of most musicians but not Rick. It is really hard to fathom how he is able to play so well.
All I have to say is buy this album, sit back and enjoy. I have listened to hundreds of albums, and this is without question one of the greates albums ever.

The year was 1987.The "Hysteria" album was released.Later on I bought this album.Whe i first heard it,i thought it was a piece of rubbish cos if the album doesnt start of that well i consider it that.U have albums which have good start off like Megadeth's "Cryptic Writings"(trust).Well as the album progressed i found it really good. It's kinda alternative rock."Women" and "Rocket" were ok.The"Rocket" video was good though. But then the magic started.7 hit singles they said.2 of them had failed. The next song "Animal" is a real good song with the one handed legend simply excellent at the drums."Pour some sugar on me" and "Armaggedonit" were a little faster and were the first of the good sngles on the labum."Love Bites" is a kinda ballad. It has a slow guitar in the beginning but then Joe's vox get louder."Gods of War" according to me is the second best song on the album. The first obviously being "Hysteria" the title song. It's a little slow but it has progressive drums to it."Run riot" is a little faster than the others on the album. This album is a classic!!!Steve lives on!!!

Hysteria is easily Def Leppard's defining album and it's obvious why that is. The album consists of no less than seven hit singles: Women, Rocket, Animal, Love Bites, Pour some sugar on me, Armageddon It, & Hysteria (the first 6 playing in order!) and the albums 5 other tracks are no slouches either (not a weak moment on the album). Another important point of Hysteria is that it followed Def Leppard's other masterpiece "Pyromania" by four years. The gap was due to drummer Rick Allen being in an automobile accident that cost him an arm. An electronic drum kit was developed especially for Allen and he turned in a performance equal too if not better than on "Pyromania". Being a drummer I can't help but have admiration for Rick Allen, if for no other reason than having dedication & drive to return to what he does and sounding amazing. The entire band (Joe Elliott, Phil Collen, Steve Clark, Rick Savage, and Rick Allen) turn out equally amazing perfomances here making this album a veritable classic. Def Leppard had a sound all of their own in a time when many bands were unoriginal. That sound is no better captured than on Hysteria. A must own.
Free Music Review: THIS IS MUSIC HISTORY - TRUST ME! Hit: 5 Stars
I can't believe you actually have to read this review to know whether or not to get this album. YES! This one is worth the money because every song is incredible, and the album flows. My favorites are 'Animal', 'Hysteria', 'Pour Some Sugar on Me' and 'Love Bites'. But can you believe I left out 'Women' and 'Rocket'? Def Leppard was IT when this album came out, and when you hear it now, you can see why. I'm not even that much of a rock fan, (I am more of a pop/R&B fan), but I can appreciate good music when I hear it. This CD will never leave my CD changer for very long, and it won't leave yours either. Believe the critics, not only is this the best Def Leppard CD ever, but it is one of the best of 80s Rock. Awesome! I'm surprised there hasn't been a remake of 'Love Bites' because it is one of the best ballads I have ever heard. I think Lenny Kravitz could pull it off... Addendum: Former Jodeci member Dalvin Degrate (Met.A.Mor.Phic) actually remade "Love Bites" on his April debut album - so I was on the money when I said the song would probably be covered!
