Free Music Review: Paving the way

Def Leppard was one of the greatest bands of the mid-80's. "Pyromania" is their definitive album, and probably their best. The anthems were hard enough to be cool, yet very singable, and they still beg to be cranked up. "Rock of Ages" and "Photograph" will never get old.
I would however like to refute some of the previous comments in regards to the follow-up album "Hysteria". "Pyromania" gave them the success(money) to come back with "Hyteria", their most influential album. It crossed hard rock over to AOR, paving the way for Bon Jovi et al for the next 5 years until hip-hop started taking over. "Hysteria" is a great album as well, and was much more successful. I was 16 at the time, and we all played both these tapes so much the lettering would wear off them. That was until "Hysteria" unleashed a year long barrage of #1 tracks so even our fathers were listening to it! Then of course the thrill faded. Point is, buy them both, or go for "Vault" to get only the best tracks. But don't discount "Hysteria".
