Free Music Notes for Retro ActiveFree Music Review: Active music Hit: 5 Stars
This CD is packed with fast pace music gems (cept for two acoustic spots) that come from the earlier Hysteria sessions. So there are some Clarke goodies here too. You can hear the distinctive Pyromania-Hysteria style here that was their bread and butter for the 80s. Miss You in a Heartbeat and Two Steps Behind have acoustic and electric versions (of which I think the electric is better). Desert Song, Fractured Love, Ride Into the Sun and Ring of Fire (compares a bit to Run Riot) are just awesome pieces.
Free Music Review: If this isn't great, nothing is! Hit: 5 Stars
"Retro Active" is classic DL with a bunch of hits usually not heard on radio."I wanna be your hero" and "She's too tough," are the best from this track. I must say, if DL can make great albums from B-sides, than they are truly a great band! The only complaint I have is that they have "Miss You in a Heartbeat" and "Two Steps Behind" on here a bit too much. Hey, we like the songs, but do we need to hear them more than once on a CD?
Free Music Review: An Excellent Collection of Unreleasd Songs Hit: 5 Stars
Retro-Active was is an excellent collection of covers and unreleased songs. Although this album was origionally meant to be a collection for their fans, it had two hit singles, "Two Steps Behind" and "Miss You In A Heart Beat". What I like most of this album is that the band shows of their excellent technique and the ability to do a variety of music. This album is also the only album that has both Steve Clark and Vivian Cambell.
Free Music Review: Great CD. Why don't they play like that nowadays? Hit: 5 Stars
This is a great CD, and it is true that after "Hysteria" they have not been the same. I've heard "Yeah" is a decent effort, though I am not inclined to buy it anytime soon. I wonder why they do not play like they used to anymore. Maybe the 80's are over, but I would bet 10 to one that if they made an album like Pyromania or Hysteria nowadays, they would sell millions again. Hey, Elliot, get off your [...], and give us a good album, please!!!
Free Music Review: The Missing Album Hit: 5 Stars
Wow! I am completely blown away by this album. How I ever missed is it till now I'll never know. It is really, really good. It's one of those albums you put in and right away you know you've got a classic. If your a fan of the Pre-Hysteria Def Leppard you will be thanking yourself for picking this up.
A half a dozen of the tracks rock as hard as any of the music they have ever released. Don't miss it!
