Free Music Notes for Yeah!Free Music Review: Best Leppard EVER! Hit: 5 Stars
First and foremost, I hate Def Leppard. Every time one of their songs comes on the radio, I turn the channel as quickly as possible.
I won my copy in a radio contest (along with some Tom Petty tickets, which is what I wanted in the first place) and had no intention of listening to it. Had every intention of selling it to a used-CD shop.
But then curiosity got the best of me, and I popped it in the player.
That was earlier today; as I type this, I've now listened to it three times. It has been ENTIRELY TOO LONG since rock & roll was this passionate, this forceful, THIS LOUD!!! This is a great rock & roll album, PERIOD! Regardless of whose name is on the cover. If Def Leppard could always sound like this, I'd buy their records in a heartbeat.
Free Music Review: YEAH! is exactly what it was supposed to be!! Hit: 5 Stars
YEAH! is a covers album of Def Leppard's influences. That's pretty much the point of this album. Of course some will be upset that they put a covers album out instead of a album of new material..but that will come soon enough. I didn't really know most of the originals on this cd but what i do know is that they are great songs. I'm not sure what the originals all sounded like, but I can tell you Def Leppards versions are flawless. If you're a Def Leppard fan or even a fan of the bands they are covering, this is worth the buy. You won't be able to take it out once you put it in! One thing I would like to point out is that their cover of ELO is GREAT..its very different but so well put together. You won't regret getting this one.
Free Music Review: Love it! Hit: 5 Stars
Def Leppard is my favorite rock band ever, and Yeah! had me hooked from the first listen. I had never heard of most of the songs, so I looked them up and downloaded the originals. In my opinion, the Def Lep versions are better than the originals. I also bought the bonus CD available at WalMart, and it is every bit as good as the full Yeah CD. I especially like the song "Heartbeat" sung by Joe Elliott. I'm a sucker for Joe's voice, even though I see that others criticize it. He doesn't hit the high screaming notes that he did when he was in his 20's, but he can stilll make me weak in the knees, no matter whether he is rockin' or singing a ballad. Phil Collen is great on "Stay with Me" also. Keep up the good work guys!
Free Music Review: Album with vigour Hit: 5 Stars
Was blown away after listening this cd. Though almost all of the songs are new to me. But i have not seen such raw energy & passion in their music since High N Dry or Slang. Guitars are loud, Joe voice is as good as ever. Phil & Viv shred like hell. Viv has done some excellent job with slide solos. I think he is more talented than Phil. Phil has done some great singing in "Stay with me". This is an excellent album. Good old rock n roll is back. Phil in a recent interview said that their new album, which is due in March 2007, will be more raw and more rocking than their recent albums, hope he is right. I think they have realized that their fans want them to rock. Good job done with this one. LONG LIVE DEF LEPPARD.
Free Music Review: A Hell Raiser Of An Album Hit: 5 Stars
Def Leppard..what more can you say, the minute I popped this Disc in, I knew I was in for a wild ride. From the opening track to the very end, these guy's have done these songs justice and take the listener back in time to some great Rock N' Roll. Rick Allen's Drumming on Hell Raiser is just fantastic..You forget he has only one arm. Phils vocals on stay with me almost puts Rod Stewarts to shame. And Joe..His vocals on 20th Century Boy as well as Hell Raiser and Don't believe A Word is just awesome. Their Musician ship, time and dedication to these songs and their love for them, help make this one of..If not thee best albums of the year. Just like the Lepps themselves, every song is a winner..great job. 5 Stars
