much of today's hard rock has been tainted by wannabe acts such as "limp bizkit" or "cold". when "korn" first appeared on the scene, i was mortified at the lack of quality on the harder side of the spectrum, which only seemed to yield more and more copy bands (yes, kids, "limp bizkit" and "fred durst" and their "we're so angry" attitude is a copy of "korn", who is a really lame copy of Rage Against the Machine).My years of listening to TOOL were getting a bit tiresome, until a friend exposed me to a little song called "Passenger"...
Hence, my love for the Deftones was born. an amazing album in every respect, the Deftones prove with their third outing that they're here to stay and shake up the hard scene. forget about lame lyrics ("cold") or ridiculous attitude issues ("fred durst" is a businessman, not an artist, not a musician, not a singer in any respect), the Deftones bring it all back to a small little something that's worth listening to: sincerity.

Well what can i say about Deftones third album "white pony". Well it is definitly THE best album i have ever heard.I just got into Deftones recently when i bought their new self titled album.I have heard tons of good things about it so i decided to go to the store and pick it up(along with all their other albums). Well it's true what they say,this is a truly brilliant album.
The first song,"back to school" is great from the start, it's different from other Deftones songs, it's mostly rap-metal but it still succeeds to put shame upon anything limp bizkit ever wrote.Song #2 "Feiticeira" is one of my favorites on the album it just totally rocks out but is nothing compared to the next song "Digital Bath", which is possibly the best deftones song ever.All the rest of the songs are great, especially songs like "change","knife prty", and "passenger"(featuring Maynard from Tool).overall this is the best Deftones album released and probably one of the best albums of all time.Good day.

I was never really into the Deftones, but being a huge TOOL fan a friend told me to buy "Adrenaline" back in 96. As soon as I heard it the Deftones were instantly my second favorite band other than TOOL. I personally think White Pony may be a bit better than any of the other two albums. I think they have found their sound with white pony. I enjoy it because it isnt the "KoRn poser" some bands try to be. But every song on White Pony is Great! My favorites are "Passenger" (Maynard and Chino's voices go perfect together), "Elite" (the heaviest awesome song), "Change" (great song even though it has been played nostop on the radio), "Digital Bath" (Awesome song), "Back to School" (A little too Bizkit but pretty good), sorry if I dont mention any of the others but i havent memorized the titles. Listen to it before you buy it because if you are a rap hardcore ICP listener you might not like it. If you like t check out TOOL, A PERFECT CIRCLE, STAIND, NOTHINGFACE, COLD, SEVENDUST. If you've heard of the Deftones before, it was probably because you've listened to KoRn's "Life is Peachy" or Limp Bizkit's "Three Dolla Bill, Yall$". BUT BE WARNED:Don't go buying any Deftones CD expecting them to sound like what Chino did on those 2 ones. Instead of all the rapping, which you hear on them, this is really a soft (skip "Elite" and "Back to School (Mini Maggit)") and emotional album, with meaninful lyrics. Chino's voice can one minute be as vulgar and loud Corey Taylor's (Slipknot), and the next be as soft and peaceful as Maynard James Keenan's (Tool, A Perfect Circle). It's mainly an aggro/alternative album, but it can have a gothic vibe in some songs, such as "Change (In the House of Flies", which was also their first single and the reason I bought this CD. (I didn't see the video or hear it on the radio or anything, I just listened to it on "The Queen of the Damned" soundtrack.)I suggest you get this if you're a fan of Spineshank, Taproot, Linkin Park, or Tool.

An excellent cd. The songs range in emotion, from heavy to soft. There is a great contrast between a more sedated sound then, to songs like elite. Also, for anyone who likes Tool/APC, you'll love Passenger, which uses Maynard James Keenan's vocal talents. personally, i feel that this cd is as good as around the fur and adrenaline. if you don't have either of those, be sure to get them. my personal favorite songs are: street carp, elite, change (in the house of flies), and pink maggit back to school (also known as mini maggit)is ok, though pink maggit is better i'd like to add Chino's comments on elite (it's full of metaphors, infinity 2)
