There are a few opportunities that Eric Clapton has afforded himself to be a part of another's band. This is because he has a reputation for being a kind of one man show. Delaney and Bonnie is the exception to the case. You don't really get too much soloing or grandstanding and Eric seems to fit right into the the band seemlessly. I think that there was a little respect on Eric's part for the musical integrity of this band and the humility works out well, a stellar work of r&b by Delanie an Bonnie.Free Music Review: They Can't Get Much Better

This is what Rock and Roll was, is and always should be. Perfect synthesis of energy and art. Raw and yet controlled. D & B's vocals are the perfect match for Clapton and friends. Just about every track penetrates. My favorite is Coming Home - you can feel the soulful earnestness of the vocal supported by superb guitar work. While that's my favorite, the other tracks for the most part are tight runners up.My opinion one of the 5 greatest Rock and Roll records ever!

more people, more instruments, more notes, more beauty than the vast majority of rock recordings. fun and fast, but some slow and melancholy, too. a christmas concert from croyden, england, that also had dave mason and traffic (not appearing on this cd, however). if anybody knows where the rest of the recordings of d & b & friends with clapton are please tell me (some tunes showed up on "the best of eric clapton", a two-album collection from the early 70s).Free Music Review: The MOSTEST Live Trip!!

I saw this unbelievable group live at a Festival near New Orleans area in 1971. I was at the foot of the stage the whole time and was rockin' and floatin' at the same time!! The moment I saw this album after the concert I bought it and now have it on CD. It is the tightest most rockin' power
live concert EVER!! If you have any memories of the 60-70s rock energy

If you were a young woman of the late sixties, and you had this album, you will know what I mean. I could NOT stop belting out every song along with Bonnie--"Do Right Woman"..."That's What My Man Is For"...She eclipses the guys for a change ( and I am a huge Clapton fan) with her incredibly sensual howlingly torrid voice. Oh go buy it. Who cares if the CD quality is bad? HA!
