Free Music Notes for Delaney & Bonnie On Tour With Eric ClaptonFree Music Review: "Mr. Crapdock on the kickoff......" Hit: 4 Stars
When I initially heard this the moment it came out I loved it having seen Cream in '67&'68 and following Sir Eric through his many changes since 1966. This is the best you can get mixing the country/blues styles of Delaney & Bonnie with the rock/blues/soul of Clapton. And Bonnie can really belt it out as she does on many of this CD's numbers. I love that the backing band are the Dominoes who hadn't officially formed yet. I wish that this could be remastered and re-released as the entire show and maybe even a DVD because I have a copy of the Denmark show which is fantastic!!
Free Music Review: Spectacular!! Hit: 4 Stars
Only if the complete show would be included in a CD set! It gives a glimpse of what to expect at a Delaney & Bonnie concert. They are known to give dynamic representations of their songs. Hope to see more of their live shows surface on CD someday.
Free Music Review: Alllmans Meet the Blue Bros Hit: 4 Stars
Having grown up on the Allman Bros Band the one thing that was missing was the diversity of blues that was happening all over again. Delaney and Bonnie brought in the soul and Chicago R&B that the ABB left out.
Free Music Review: Eric in the early years Hit: 4 Stars
Classic Clapton, I had this album 20 years ago, still sounds great. Purchased this after watching the new Crossroad 2010. Gotta love Eric, he is the best.
Free Music Review: CD Quality is Poor Hit: 1 Stars
I had the good fortune to see several Delaney & Bonnie concerts in the early 1970's, of which this was one. It was one of the most stirring performances I have ever seen, and to this day, I still have seen or heard nothing to match it. I wore the grooves off of the original LP of this Croydon concert with Eric Clapton. However, the recording quality of this CD copy is so poor as be unrecognizable relative to the original LP.
