Free Music Review: Appreciation of a Great Metal band !!

I discovered demon hunter while searching through Amazon's reviews of other bands.
After listening to the Triptych for a while I realized this might be the best Metal album I've heard in years. Songs have catchy choruses with Great vocals. While many metal bands use "screamo" for vocals, few integrate it as well as Demon Hunter. I would almost say Ryan has one of the best Voices in metal at this time.
Although I have broad musical taste I see little to appreciate in Black Metal or Death core. Mainly because of the harsh vocal style (guttural rasp), fast-paced mono tone rhythms and melodies, and unconventional song structures. There is also the anti-Religious attitude of many bands. The most common and founding lyrical emphasis revolves around Satanic, Pagan, or occult themes. Opposition and there disdain for Christianity or anything religious is a universal theme among black metal bands. War, misanthropy, and suicide are often explored. You might say, If you don't like it don't listen! But you would miss the point.
Let me ask you, why should it be that this genre of music is so focused on an anti religious philosophy? Is there a sub genre of Jazz or Classical that is focused on death or anti social behavior? What happened to Just good old Rock and Roll? I have to ask myself are they trying to hide there lack of talent and substituting it with shock value?
If you want to pound the table against the establishment or whine cuz daddy was mean to you, write your Congressman. If you want great hard rock and you like talented bands that sound good, I'm in.
Demon Hunter rises above this and brings talent,class and hard rock to the table. On top of this they seem to carry a religious theme while not being to preachy. I love that balance. White Metal is alive and well!!
